| The harness is better than the collar because the collar can put pressure onn the neck and lead to collapse trachea later on. I just use a regular step in I get from Petsmart I dont know since your baby is so small if they would carry that size but you measure the chest to get the size

| Some people use ferret harnesses for the little ones or you can order online and get a small one for sure

| Each harness brand is sized a little differently, so you would have to look at the size charts for each one. The most important measurement is usually the chest girth. Wrap the measuring tape around your pup's body right behind the front legs. You can leave the harness on at all times like a collar if you choose to. Depending on the harness, I would be careful when the pup is not supervised. A strappy or mesh harness could get hooked up on something in a crate or xpen. Some people use a collar for tags and a harness for hooking up the leash.

YT 2000 Club Member | Hi, Julie! I have not seen you post before.....so welcome to YT! I agree with using a harness instead of a collar. Kristin (Maximo) sell harnesses called Buddy Belt and they are wonderful! I have one for each of my girls who are about 4 lbs. & 2 lbs. They don't mind wearing them and if I ever need to to get them out of danger, I am able to quickly pull them up using the harness. I have no fear of hurting them as they are secure & doesn't put pressure on the trachea. Are you from Sioux Falls, SD? If so, I am located about 46 miles form there!
