Each harness brand is sized a little differently, so you would have to look at the size charts for each one. The most important measurement is usually the chest girth. Wrap the measuring tape around your pup's body right behind the front legs.

You can leave the harness on at all times like a collar if you choose to. Depending on the harness, I would be careful when the pup is not supervised. A strappy or mesh harness could get hooked up on something in a crate or xpen.

Some people use a collar for tags and a harness for hooking up the leash.
