Very happy to read that baby Joey is slowly getting better. :) Will continue to pray that he gets well and back home with you very soon. ((((Hugs))))

I am so happy to hear that Joey is doing better. I agree on the caesar's. Cali wouldn't eat anything when I first got her and I was able to get her to eat a little with the caesar's. Once she was bigger and eating more I slowly switched her to a better food.

Go JOEY!!!! :) I'm glad he's eating something! It can be so trying to get them to eat or to find something they like.
Have you seen the health and diet list of samples you can get from different dog food companies? Maybe while your waiting to get him back, email a few and ask for a sample. It's better than buying a huge bag, and then you find out he doesn't like it.

I would personally be very careful with the food you give Joey after this. You might want to discuss this with your vet. He has been through a lot..

You're right Ladyjane, I was wrong in that. I wasn't thinking. But, WHEN he is better- get samples of the food types the vet recommends. This will save you from trying a big bag of food and he won't eat it.

I don't know about regular foods, but if you get a RX food it is returnable. Hill's and Purina both take returns...and Royal Canin I believe. But...samples are a good idea.

Just a note: Mine have gobbled up the samples and then refused to eat it once I bought a large bagful. Made me think the samples were made differently? Lol! Most all the premium foods sold at Petsmart and Petco are returnable if your dog refuses to eat them.
