With the separation anxiety they are already going through plus the small size it is just too much stress on a little one. As I recall this pup was quite young at the time, too. | I couldn't agree with you more, vets are to quick to do a worming on a tiny puppy on top of giving them shots too. I don't like giving shots on tiny ones until they are 12 weeks. I've seen puppies go right down when vets over dose a puppy. My friend gave her litter of pugs Intra-Trac 2 for Bordetella up their nose at 8 weeks, long story short, she lost the whole litter. In no time those poor puppies were poring heavy green pudding out of their noses, gasping to breathe, so sick I never seen anything like that in all my days. These days I go the Holistic route when it comes to my dogs. I keep Bragg Apple Vinegar and MSM sulfur in their drinking water at all times, even take it myself. Fleas hate the vinegar so they stay off your pet, plus it stops the eyes from producing over productive tears. Coccidia and giardia can't live in a MSM sulfur environment in a dogs gut. If ever the need arises to deworm for tape worms, which is almost never, I use Virbantel (pyrantel pamoate/praziquantel) and always worm my puppies with Safe-Guard (Fenbendazole), better known to most as Panacur. I'm never in the vets office, and that's a wonderful thing $$$ :) |
