Go to/call the American Embassy or consulate in Japan and just ask them where some of them go etc. Seriously, you may feel silly at first but they have pets too!!!

Perthes is pretty easy to "see", in my case anyway...I came home to the ex and his buddy playing with Mini in the kitchen and they were laughing cuz she was hopping like a rabbit...I immediately took her to the vet..scared the heck out of me to see such a drastic change within hours....Let me just say, it never occurred to either of them that something was wrong because Mini didn't "complain"...but boy did they feel guilty afterward and she got many treats.

Lynzy, I am getting a name of a surgeon for her through the vet surgeon I use here.

genetic disease IS covered in both policies ~ I was sure to verify this before I procured insurance.

[Zeus is Loved]

I took Zeus to the vet today because he had been limping. I was not prepared. He has luxating patella in both legs, but only problems in the left leg. It is luaxting out as well as in. He also has Legg Perthes Calves in his left hip. The vet said his left hind leg is just bad. I'm guessing surgery for both. We are seeing the ortho Thursday. The worst part is that he has full reign of the house, and he will have to be confined for a week, and then longer for surgery. Any suggestions or experience?
