This is so incredibly sad. I spent months upon months searching for a breeder before I settled with one. I came across this site as well as a hundred more just like it. It breaks my heart thinking about what these poor little babies have to endure.

Let's not give up, maybe we can educate the buyer on why breeding this dog is not a good idea. When I bought Joey, I was sort of thinking of breeding him, since he was such a cutie pie, I was very ignorant about breeding and all of the problems associated with it. You guys taught me and I'm an OLD dog!

The truth is always somewhere in the middle but many of you are "doomsdayers" and think this is like Vietcong prisoner of war conditions. It's not. It's probably better you not go off on people until you know the truth. I appreciate those of you who say keep an eye out for "these red flags" and say what to look for and not look for in a breeder.

Trust me, I've done months of research looking for the right dog. There's no way in hell I would buy a dog from a puppy mill or prisoner of war camp. I chose this breeder because I felt she truly bred dogs based on health of the parents and love for the dog. I got the feeling from other people selling dogs locally that they'd had a litter of dogs so they could make a few bucks. These were what I call "hobby" breeders or people that have a litter occasionally from the same two dogs because they think it's fun and could use the money. This particular lady doesn't really need the money but she does enjoy the breed, her dogs and helping other people. That's my sense. I'm done.

I am a little confused by some of your replies. You asked us what we thought and then gave her website. But then you say that she is reputable even though there have been many red flags raised. How can you say her pups are spoiled rotten when she has tiny little 3lb and under females running around going to give birth? These are not mice we are talking about or even her pigs these are yorkies and many people with multiple years of experience breeding them have warned and warned how bad it is to breed these tinies. She says in her reply that she is not breeding runts but true tiny dogs. Ok where does she think that tiny came from to begin with? I am so saddened that a seasoned Yter would come here and condone this practice. It is almost like a purposeful endorsement of this and I say it lightly "breeder".

Yes, that's what it says on the website, see my post 87 and I give a screen capture of the page where she is listed. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...end-image1.jpg It says she will be going to live with Sophia and Emma and that Sidney will be a perfect breeder.

I too thought the same thing when I got Raelle, and to make matters even worse, the byb I got her from encouraged me to breed her!!! Told me I could make some money....I actually considered it. This site taught me and taught me well....nope, no not gonna happen, not with my baby...she was promptly spayed. This site turned my ignorance into knowledge!! I applaud YT for educating me as well as many others on the dangers of breeding irresponsibly, maybe we can do the same for this person.

It's more than purposeful endorsement, it's simple math. The OP can buy a tiny AKC pup for $2,000. She can then turn around and breed the girl and sell each tiny for $2,000. If you look at the breeder's website, her parti carrier pups go for $4,500. The OP will be getting a parti carrier. The OP can double her money on the very first pup. It's wrong to assume that the OP hasn't done her homework in choosing a breeder to buy her puppy from. Quite the contrary, she has done her homework thoroughly. Big dollar signs have a way of clouding your vision, and leave you checking your scruples at the door. Promises of easy money can cause people to justify just about anything. That's nothing new. I read an old story in a great book about a guy named Judas who had the same issues. What a monster greed can be.

Okay folks heres what we have puppy broker/miller, all the dogs are not on her property. Google each phone number and you will see that she sells, many many many many many DIFFERENT breeds of dogs all over the internet, including next day pets etc. She also has just as many email addresses as phone numbers.

Ive been reading this thread and a couple of others that were.....intense. When I bought Jasper I was so ignorant and had NO idea what I was doing. Now I'm wondering if I bought him from a byb. There were kennels behind the house and while the pups and another female were inside, the parents were not. They live waaaaay out in the boonies. Not that that matters. My point is, if I had been on YT for many years, those alone would have been flags to me. And, as hard as it would have been to walk away from a pup I had just held, I would have. Oh and I looked at the site again last night. Jasper's sister is still for sale. She keeps dropping the price.

OP,I'm new here and aren't even close to being as knowledgeable as you are. I believe you know in your heart what the right and wrong thing to do is. You are a grown woman. I'm not lecturing and definitely not trying to over step my bounds. I'm just asking you to think about everything you've learnt over the years. If you still decide to buy this pup I certainly hope she will have a long and healthy life. I also know you will still have the support here you've always had. I'm still waiting for the Breeder to answer my questions & am betting she will not answer them. OP Please do some research on the condition I mentioned as I guarantee this breeder is breeding dogs with this condition & it is both hereditary & congenital. Believe me when I tell you that this is NOT a condition that you want in your puppy & I speak from personal experience.

I just have to say that when I originally posted I felt sorry for OP, I figured she honestly didn't know what she was getting herself into and that she was unknowingly supporting something so terrible. Now however, unless she's a total ignoramus, she definitely knows what this "breeder" is all about. She just doesn't seem to care. *sigh*. So anyway, I no longer feel sorry for her. I still feel bad for the little puppies and dogs and even piggies involved in this though.
