| I think it just depends on the personalities. Joel is super quite unless you specifically tell him to be loud, then he will. There could be someone outside stealing the car and he won't make a sound and just watch from the window haha! |

| Minnie rarely barks. She is only 4 months but only barks randomly. If someone rings the doorbell or knocks she just runs to the door and scratches on it to get me to open it sooner but I also try not to make a big deal about it. She mostly barks when she tries to get attention and all other attempts have not worked. |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Clyde is the biggest yapper in the world. HE LOVES TO TALK!! It took me a couple of months to teach him the command "quiet". Seriously, Clyde is so yappy if you let him be. I try to keep it to a minimum, though. Dexter on the other hand is so quiet. He will make little huffing sounds. Like he is trying to talk to you. But only sometimes. He only barks if he thinks there is an intruder at the door or something. I think it really depends on the dog But I have noticed in my area the terriers like to talk.

| Ella is the quietest dog ever! When I first got her, for a while I thought she didn't know how to bark.. that was until she saw a cat run across the backyard and she found her voice. But overall she's very quiet and only barks if the doorbell rings or a cat/bird/squirrel is in the backyard. My maltese Lily on the other hand is the barker of the pack!

| Sam begs for playtime by barking. He'll get up on the back of the couch, right by my ear, and let me know in no uncertain terms that he needs attention. The only thing close to an aggressive bark has been at my neighbor across the street. He really doesn't seem to like her. I'm trying to teach him that barking at people is unacceptable by redirecting him to another area, but when she is out, he will go nuts.

| I wouldn't call Jackson 'yappy'. He doesn't just bark to hear himself bark, LOL. And he's a perfect gentleman in public places. But he has a very shrill high pitched bark that he does whenever the doorbell rings, or the UPS comes up our driveway. He's an 'alerter' for sure. He's also very loud during play (i.e. he consistently barks when he and my dads dog, Lilly, are chasing the ball around in the back yard, he barks at me when I'm about to throw a ball, etc) so he is a huge talker and it can be very annoying. We're working on it.

| My Bella only barks during rough play, or at the cat, or for a minute after she is confined to her crate. She is definitely not yappy. |

| Yeah, I think there is a difference here between barking and yapping. My big boy, Shelby, barks a heck of a lot more than Mandie.

| Most all dogs are barkers but it's their job (so they think) to keep their home and family safe from all the bad guys. However, the little dogs bark about three or four times to a large dogs two barks, so sadly they are called yappers. Mine will bark anytime they hear the UPS truck, a knock or door bell (even if it's on TV) but that's about it. When you get more than one barking at the same time, it's enough to keep those bad guys a bay though, so for that reason only, I hope they never stop "yapping"!

| Blazer barks at anything he finds suspicious. Doorbell, other dogs, and strangers. Sometimes something on tv, but not often. My neighbors' dogs, however- a Yorkie and a Shorkie- are TERRIBLE yappers! Every time they are let outside they go out barking! I really think that it is a controlable habit- I'm still working on it. =)

| Neither of mine are yappy at all. Sabre will bark in if someone comes in the door and they don't sound like they belong, but it's more an alert bark, and then he stops. Pixie never barks unless it's on command. The one that is TRYING to be yappy is the papillon. The last couple weeks she has decided that she wants to bark at people, even when she knows who they are. We're working on that, lol.
