| If you are ordering from Jenny, consider getting the mustache comb. I couldn't imagine being without it, so I bought three of them. I use it on Katie's face and legs. Jenny's grooming combs are excellent, too. The tools you use make a huge difference on how well you are able to groom your baby, but they will also make it so much more comfortable for her. |

I use conditioner during the bathing process and during grooming if the hair should dry out. Im not sure if I included that on my site, sorry. I also use it during quick sitting in between grooming's . I never brush or comb their hair when it is dry. If you spray them with the conditioner and work it in with your fingers it help to get the tangle loosened up. If all else fails and in really bad cases I will use a pair of hair scissors to break through the matt or tangle. You open the scissors and grip them like a knife with one side/point exposed. Than starting at the base of the area use it to poke the matt/tangle several times and work your way downward. It will break up the matt/tangle but keep in mind this will also cut the hair. I use that method only as a last resort !! I picked up most of my grooming supplies at local pet stores and even Wal mart. I have to say that the cat brush is my favorite tool for working out the matts. I've even got my sister & mother using them too.

| I had a groomer tell me yogi needed to be shaved when he was only a few months old! I walked out and every night for a few minutes while he lay on my lap I'd snip a mat or two out then brush him as well. It took a few days and I Found a new groomer who said he's in great shape, never complains about mats and does a great job! Find a new groomer, mats can be snipped off! |

| YT 2000 Club Member | My groomer comes to my home and I watch her as she grooms. If you can get a mobile groomer do that. I do not like pet shop groomers. They hit dogs with hairbrushes and put them in a hot dryer cage. Much prefer a home groomer I can watch. Also do not like to take my dogs out somewhere and expose them to other dogs germs. |

| I have had nothing but good experiences at the PetSmart in Chattanooga. I don't ever have him bathed, but I have taken him there for both touch up trims/nails and all over cuts. They have always followed my instructions implicitly and they have a big window where I can stand and watch the whole time. The groomers there have always seemed quite professional and gentle, even when I saw a 5lb yorkie kick the butts of three groomers at the same time!

| I have to say that I used to go to Petco for grooming BUT I was referred there by someone who knew A groomer there very well & that groomer was experienced & had been grooming for yrs before moving to my town & working for Petco & we LOVED her. Now that she is no longer here we use a private groomer & I agree with Yorkiemom1, I would stay away from Petco & Petsmart unless you are referred there by someone you trust as most of there groomers are young, inexperienced & basically not trustworthy at all. Have you tried a dematting comb ? they look pure evil & dangerous but come with instructions & work very well. |

| My 4 doggies don't mind brushing at all, as long as it is with the Madan pin brush. Any other brush, they will run and hide. It's good to get them used to brushing and grooming very gently when they are young, as it is necessary all through their lives. Good luck.
