You have beautiful dogs. The small amount of white that you have on one of your dogs. The sire of the one I'm talking about is that color all the way around except for his face as some gold.

| ![]() It sounds like to me that the sire is very light blue and gold. Some standard colored (blue and gold) yorkies can end up with such a light blue, that they are almost a whiteish-silver, especially if they have a true silk coat. Those that breed to standard try to produce puppies that mature with a medium to dark steel blue coat, but sometimes a true silk coat will lighten as the dog ages. I personally would not have a dog that was as light as you're describing in my breeding program as it's really hard to bring color back in, but I don't mind one being a little on the lighter side. The goal is a dark steel blue, however. Anyway, with that said, if you know the sire is that light then there could be a very good chance that your puppy will turn out that light as an adult. Also, be really careful as there are a lot of bad breeders in Texas... Good luck finding your puppy.

| ![]() Hard to say. Genetics are complicated. Depends too on how strong the genetics behind the sure and dam are for their coat color too, their coat texture and what texture the pup inherited, and what genes for coat color the puppy got. Sometimes you can tell early on that a puppy will be light... Look at the color at the roots of the hair by the shoulders...if it starts to look like blue or silver early, they will probably be light as an adult.

| ![]() Something else to be concerned with is if the breeder has a contract for purchase - any health guarantees, etc. It could be the dad is a parti Yorkie, like my Izzy.

Can you please recommend a breeder in the DFW area. I'm just so leery. I have already seen one very negative post about Shimmertime. And another man I spoke to today doesn't sound good either. IF you can recommend anybody I would appreciate it so much.

| ![]() I looked at there website and I would stay very far away from Shimmertime. Good breeders don't breed a dog under 5 pounds because it is a lot more dangerous and I noticed a lot of there females were 4 pounds and sadly in my opinion that shows they don't care for there females or they wouldn't put them at risk being 4 pounds. I hope someone can help you find a great breeder.

With that said, I absolutely would not purchase anything from this breeder, IMHO her breeding program is awful, listen to your gut. Take some time here, ask us about breeders, find someone you are absolutely comfortable with and not someone who is just making money off these precious pups...
