Those that breed to standard try to produce puppies that mature with a medium to dark steel blue coat, but sometimes a true silk coat will lighten as the dog ages. I personally would not have a dog that was as light as you're describing in my breeding program as it's really hard to bring color back in, but I don't mind one being a little on the lighter side. The goal is a dark steel blue, however.

Anyway, with that said, if you know the sire is that light then there could be a very good chance that your puppy will turn out that light as an adult. Also, be really careful as there are a lot of bad breeders in Texas... Good luck finding your puppy.

Can you please recommend a breeder in the DFW area. I'm just so leery. I have already seen one very negative post about Shimmertime. And another man I spoke to today doesn't sound good either. IF you can recommend anybody I would appreciate it so much.
