Truly, like I posted elsewhere, the puppies on the Angel Dog website look just like the puppies in the small dog section of any local Animal Shelter except for far, far less money and sans the impossible and outlandish claims of solving certain health problems and creating permanent puppies. |

If you start off on a different foot, Amy, I'm sure you will see what a loving community YT is. We will do anything to help dogs, whether they are purebred Yorkies or not Yorkies at all, and the people who love them. You will see people rush in to help with questions, problems, or anything else, even if it's not dog related at all. YT is a passionate and compassionate group who hurt when we see dogs or people exploited. As in any group of people, we have varied opinions, but that's what makes it interesting , and it also helps us to learn and grow. Even after having dogs all of my life, I still make mistakes with Katie, but I am committed to being the best mom I can be to her, and I continually want to learn. Three years ago, when I lost my little angel at the Rainbow Bridge, Ashley, when she was seventeen, I still remained part of this community. I was attached to the people and the pups here. We are not just names on a computer screen. We really care about each other and are an extended family. |

A true hybrid would be, say, a wolf crossed with a dog: hybrid = two different species! ie horse + donkey = mule/hinny (depending on who the sire is). Yorkie + Maltese = Crossbreed (or F1 if you prefer) (aka Morkie to make folks pay more!) ;) F1 + F1 = MONGREL!!!!!!!! And as to F2, F3 and F4's......just even MORE mixed-up mongrels :D Lovely dogs in themselves BUT don't give them a fancy name and an even fancier price tag  As I said earlier, there's over 350+ perfectly good pedigree dogs so SURELY there must be the right breed for everyone  There's just no need to continue breeding more for money.....nothing else! How folks can sleep at night KNOWING they are deliberately breeding all these mongrel puppies - especially if they deliberately go for smaller and smaller sizes - when there are MILLIONS of perfectly healthy mongrels & crossbreeds in shelters all around the world who would love a home. God, give these rescue dogs a silly name if you will but DON'T encourage the breeding of more by going to these greeders who prey on idiots with fat cheque books! :( |

Oh, I know Lauren. Neither of my two are from a perfect breeder either. Tuffy came from a person who represented themselves as the owner; a broker. Just as we were getting set to get him, I found YT. Bella came from people who show their dogs but luckily for me she ended up "too big to show". :D |
Pricing I find her pricing for the puppies to be quite competitive. Her females start at $1200(pet quality/limited registration) and $1500(show/breeding quality)Males start at $1000. For a puppy that comes with AKC papers and has been raised in an excellent environment I find those prices quite reasonable. She aims to have smaller pups that are healthy but definitely has those projected to be within the 4 lb range and above. The female I saw that she was breeding at the time was within the 5lb range she was just known to give birth to pups on the small side 5lbs or less. I respectfully agree to disagree with you on this topic using the term "teacup" does not put "me off" a breeder as long as I see that they are doing everything else correct. |
I don't understand what the fascination is with having a super tiny dog. My first Yorkie, Iggy was only 4lbs but he thought he was 100lbs. He never wanted to be carried in a purse or bag. He was very independent and liked going on long walks and hikes. He did not like to be cuddled and dressed up in cute outfits. He whined a TON in the car and was not a great traveler despite his size which is the usual excuse given when someone wants such a small dog. |

She has the website Home Page but it didn't really give me any info(I received her info from the AKC's website). I used the info from the website(hers as well as the AKC's) to email her and from there(after several emails regarding her breeding practices she offered for me as well as my family to come to her home anytime I wanted to have a look at where/how the puppies are raised. She lives in a somewhat tourist town and even offered insight to local attractions my family could visit as well as lodging advice if we planned to make more than a day out of it. Many breeders don't list pricing on their websites(at least in my experience of purchasing my english bulldog they don't). I visited her home took a look at her babies(adult dogs),answered her questions and I asked mine. There was no pressure to put a deposit down from this breeder that you should probably receive from your "run of the mill" byb. |
As I stated earlier I RESPECTFULLY agree to disagree with some of your statements. I understand your viewpoint but it is not mine and since we are all adults on this forum I would expect the same from others.:), To call or refer to me as being uneducated because I MAY use a certain word is an insult and a slap in the face to my Bachelor's degree in Nursing which I obtained raising my son while my husband was deployed. I haven't used the term teacup neither have a used the term teapot which is not recognized terminology within the breed club either....but I do recognize an individual's right to call their pet any adjective they see fit. Have a nice day ladies! |

Additionally, I got my Bachelors degree when I had 2 kids 9 months apart while both my brothers fought in wars and my husband was an over the road truck driver, I also learned how to spot a Back Yard Breeder, A Greeder, A Puppymill, and a Broker while I worked full time to pay the bills for a dog that I had from a puppymill....pardon me for bragging....I never! |

Your sarcasm and rudeness is very....Maybe it's my southern upbringing. Let me just say any type of rudeness is uncalled for whatever you believe. You are as passionate about your opinions as I am about mine. But nonetheless your opinion is yours and I have my one(many actually)myself. You are entitled to it and I am entitled to mine. |
