HELP - Newbie Owner with questions.... Have some questions and would appreciate any help! 1. Betti Page is 4.5 months and about 4 lbs. Feeding her 1/4 cup 3x a day and she seems to be doing great. But is is too much or too little? NutriSource food with Cheerios as her "cookies" she needs them to coax her into the kennel. LOL 2. She used to sleep between our pillows but now she is slipping down the bed between our legs, husband is worried she will suffocate under the heaviness of the comforters? 3. She is doing great potty training. She still has pee pad in her kennel and will not hesitate to go on it. I tried the whole making the kennel smaller, but she just peed and laid in it. I was bathing her every day. So not sure if this will be something that she grows out of or is this the routine? 4. At night after taking her out, we have given her a Nyla bone to chew on in the bed while we watch TV. 3 times now, she has peed the bed chewing her bone! Mind you, not got up and peed like normal but laid there chewing and peed! Then she realizes that she peed the bed and gets nervous thinking she is in trouble. I scold her and take her outside immediately afterwards, but has anyone heard of this behavior? Please someone give me some pointers. I know that I must be stern with her and I am. She is really doing great on the potty training and only has an accident if I am not paying attention to her signals! Thank you and I love this site!!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and WELCOME!! So glad you're loving it here . Love the name, Betti Page - too cute! For feeding, I did 3x a day until mine were about 10mths-ish old...then I went to 2x day. As long as her body condition feels right to you - ie, not too skinny, not too 'padded'...then I think you're on track. On the sleeping...our 3 spend a LOT of time sleeping under our covers this time of year, and they do fine. If/when they get too hot or need some air, they just crawl on out. As long as you think your kiddo can crawl out, she should be fine...there's lots of air still getting under those covers. On the potty thing...hmmm...that's a little odd about the pottying during chewing. I'd be real sure and ask the vet about it. Does she leak or very suddenly release and go at other times, or just w/ the bone? If it's just w/ the bone, maybe she just gets so distracted and doesn't want to move, and just goes. But, if she doesn't even know she is going, then there is no real point in scolding her bc she'll just get confused; instead, it'd really be a vet issue if this was the case. Would love to see some piccies of her!

Thank you - my husband and I are Pin-Up Girl fans, hence the name. Yes, I FEEL that she is like a kid out playing and doesn't want to stop to go potty when she has that bone. Honestly, it seems to freak her out when she does it. I know it sounds hookey but I see it in her eyes/actions - she is like "WTH just happened Mom?" I will ask the vet on our next trip, she gets chipped at the end of the month. Thank you again. She is such a joy!

does she pee if you dont give a nyla bone? If she doesnt then I would go for the "no food in bed" rule. Ive never seen mine go without the "squat" but i would imagine thats not a habit you want her to get into lol. Maybe chewing gets her excited and she dribbles?

No the only other time she did it was with her pillow. She was "digging" the pillow like to make a bed (?) and all of a sudden she rushed down to the end of the bed and I knew something was up. So I looked and she peed on the pillow! So now that pillow and the Nyla bone are off the bed. It just really seems weird, I don't see her squat when she did it, but she is so close to the ground I could have missed it. Thank you all again for your help!
