| OMG..my dog ate.. Our 7 mo old Chewy ate 4 ear plugs!! They are the small spongy kind that are no bigger around than a pencil eraser. My older yorkie had eaten a few in the past and he just pooped them out, but never 4!! He somehow climbed onto my night stand and got ahold of them. Should I wait to see if he poops them out or take him to the vet tomorrow?? I am really worried now |

| I would give the emergency vet a call right now.

| I would worry about bowel obstruction, even if they are small perhaps with fluids in the intestine, they can swell and block any small stricture in the intestine your dog might have. Perhaps if you take your baby in to the vet now, they can use an endoscope and get them out of the stomach. Otherwise if they block from waiting until they pass from the stomach, it would likely require surgery.

| I would have induced vomiting right after he consumed them... How long has it been?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've always heard you should never induce vomiting if they swallow a solid object, as it could cause choking when it comes up. Best to call the vet or emergency vet. I really don't think you need to worry, but I would always ask my vet what is the next best course of action. My guess is he'll have you on poop patrol, and tell you to give canned pumpkin to help it pass faster. Pick up poop with plastic baggies so you can throughly check it.

| He has been acting normal so far. He had a normal poop this morning (no earplugs yet). I called the vet and they told me he should be fine and that I needed to watch him for signs of vomiting, not eating or tiredness. I kept checking him all night because I have been so worried. I guess we will just have to wait it out. |

| This brings back memories of Gracie's first year. She would steal things off of tables, out of closets, purses, etc. She chewed my daughter's ear buds once. Thankfully, we caught her before she swallowed anything. She was in hot water with my daughter for a while though. Banned from her bedroom. |

| Yeah, I keep them in a box and was putting them on my dresser so he couldnt get them, but as soon as I start to trust him and began hiding them behind a picture on my nightstand, he gets bored and gobbles them up He has been doing very good so far. Been keeping a close eye on him and i gave him a little pumpkin to see if it would get things moving. |
