Good Mates for a Yorkie?

Ok so now you want to put two yorkies at risk do you live with your boyfriend if so why don't you listen to people on here that know what they are talking about. Maybe I am missing something, you ask our thoughts and EVERYONE says it's a diaster waiting to happen so your response is to get a second yorkie but still the Shiba. Now if you guys don't live with one another and he or you do not spend the night at the other place and never plan to and if your BF will always have his Shiba on a strong leash when around your yorkie or yorkies then perhaps your dog will not get "eaten" but boy that is not circumstances I would want to live in

Below is some info I pulled up, I am sure there is much more out there, I am glad this thread was started because the grand daughter of one of my neighbors has this type of dog and she brings it over to visit. I did not plan for that dog to have any interaction with Lola but now I know to be much more careful.

Temperament
Sometimes, the Shiba tends to show dog aggression. This is more prevalent between female Shibas and is influenced by the breed's strong prey drive. The Shiba Inu is best in a home without other small dogs or young children, but consistent obedience training and early socialization can make all the difference. The breed also interacts fairly well with cats.[2]

If you want a little larger dog why don't you try a Border Collie. They are very sweet, active dogs. I know a few people that have Borders and Yorkies. They get along great.

more info, is your BF experienced with dogs, this one sounds like a handful to train, but very important to train as well. do you have a fenced yard? it says not to have it off leash and don't take it to dog parks since it is dog prey driven

My brother has a Shiba Inu and he does not like my yorkie pup. The Shiba Inu is 11 years old and gets along great with my mom's maltipoo but he's always growling and tries to bite my Yorkie. I had another yorkie that passed away not too long ago and he hated him too.
