| Congrats on your Kooper! You and your family are so very lucky!! When Peanut was a puppy he loved the “Kong” toys. KONG® Puppy Toy for Beginning Chewers - Toys - Dog - PetSmart KONG Puppy Binkie Toy - Toys - Dog - PetSmart You can also stick little pieces of treats in there ( make sure they are tiny enough so Kooper can’t choke. Those toys are really good for the puppy stage since they chew, chew, and chew! This one is pretty cool because you can freeze it- Oh you can also freeze the Kong’s Petstages Cool Teething Chew for Puppies - Toys - Dog - PetSmart Any toy really puppies love, just make sure they are safe where if he chews on them nothing will come off- Are you going to pad train him? If so you might want to buy some pee pads. Nutri-Cal is always good to have at the house- if Kooper doesn’t eat and gets low blood sugar- you can give him some of this to spike it up. Tomlyn Nutri-Cal Puppy Dietary Supplement at PETCO Hmmm what else, you will need a good harness and leash- Try to find something cheap since he will grow out of it. Then when he is older you can invest in a Buddy Belt- they are hands down the best harness! We have a YT that sells them! Sounds like you just need a couple more things and you will be set to jet! Can’t wait to see some pics of your little boy!!

| Our favorite free toys are fleece strips (cut from old blankets)braided and knotted together. Puppy Nylabones are great for putting in puppy's mouth while removing childrens fingers. We started out with a cat rake/brush thing and a flea comb. Abby still likes the soft cat brush. Cheerios- in a shake container- turned out to be the best pottytraining treat. |

| Here comes much disputed advice, but I have to say it....I have JUST read yet another post on this forum, about mixing toddlers and puppies. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Do not take your eyes off the toddler or the puppy for one second. It only takes a second for a toddler to loose their balance and step, fall, kick, or drop, one of these babies.....and then it is all over but the hole digging. Congratulations on your new puppy...please do not let the children play around, carry, pick up, etc., the puppy......please keep the puppy safe. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 02-06-2013 at 02:56 PM. |

I've found the best treats for reinforcing training, both pottying & commands, is pieces of cooked chicken, carrots & cheerios. No need for store bought treats, and most probably safer & healthier for your pup too! ZoE has been on Royal Canin from the get-go and has done really well on it, so I highly recommend the food. As for toys, I've found squeaky latex toys (not vinyl) are great for fetch, and skinneeez are great for a good shaking or tug game.
