2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | First of all I would suggest buying a small blanket (baby blanket) and get a stuffed animal simular to her size and asking the breeder to rub them all over the Dam and litter mates. Going as far as letting them lounge around on it for a short time before leaving her home. No Im not crazy.... this will be a great comfort to your little one when it comes time for her to be on her own in her cage or e-pen. I supply them with all of my pups before sending them to their new homes. Plus having a nice warm blanket with her momma and little mates scent on it will help to keep her calm on the trip home. When I brought my little ones home it seems like they couldn't get close enough to me. Two of the four acualy ended up climbing up my chest and nestling on the back of my neck under my hair. I guess it reminded them of their moms.

| About the only thing I would recommend is make sure you bring some water in case she gets thirsty and to stop at least once on the way home to see if she has to potty. We picked our little one up about 4 hours away and that's what we did, though Izzy did sleep almost all of the way home. And I agree with dawn27, if you can get something with the mom and litter mates scent, that may help also. Good luck and you will have to post some pictures once you get home all settled in.

| Oh how exciting! Congratulations! My best advice is to bring Nutri-cal, a roll of paper towels, an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle, and maybe an old towel. She'll probably sleep most of the ride home, but it's always best to be prepared for life's little surprises. Please post pics when you're settled and good luck!

| Thanks so much! I totally forgot about the nutrical! OMGoodness! And having somethingnwith her families scent is a great idea! I will definitely stop halfway home so she can go potty. Has anyone ever potty trained with the assistance of diapers or diaper wraps? Not to just let her go potty in but to have her on a schedule and just in case so she can run around a bit. I ordered her these really cute panties red black, pink and purple. All you have to do is a d a small sanitary napkinjust in case. Some have used this technique and it worked. |

| Congratulations on your new baby! It was a 4 hour trip for us when we picked up Sam. I took: *carrier/pet taxi with a sherpa liner and a soft blanket *collapsible water bowl and a bottle of fresh water *NutriCal *puppy size harness and leash *disposable pee pads - because your baby is so young and hasn't had all of her shots yet, it's best to avoid common places like rest stops with dog walk areas. Parvo can live on the ground for months! I just spread the pad out in the back of the car. Some of the stuff I didn't use, but it was still nice to have it, especially since our 4 hour trip home turned into 10 hours!

| Yorkies should stay with there moms until 12 weeks and learn some very important things from there moms from 10 to 12 weeks. You need to be prepared for hypoglycemia and have nutrical. If the pup is left for to long by them selves and not eating every couple of hours they could have a hypoglycemia episode that if no one is around to help get the puppy out of it could die. So if your pup does not eat you need to watch it very closely and if you still can't get food in it you need to call the vet. Also make sure within the first 48 hours you get your pu checked over by your vet.

| I would suggest having your car checked out before making the trip! We were halfway home when my transmission pretty much came apart.
