| ![]() You know...I was thinking some more about this and wondering if one of those 'food tents' might work. All you need is a 'deterrent'...something to make Harry 'think' he cannot go there. When I really cannot have kitties jump on counters, etc., like cooking for holidays, I always put stuff on the edge where it is visible from the floor, or overhanging (cantelevered) over the edge of the counter so when they look up, they can see there is nowhere to land up there...plus, they would have to jump backwards around that edge then over and forward to the counter, and they cannot physically do that. So, since those 'picnic food tents' are lightweight weight and collapse, might be easier to store and manage. They are slope-sided and come to a point on top, which 'might' make him realize that the lap is otherwise occupied and slow him down at least long enough for someone to get control of his next move. There are also round mesh covers...I am not sure about size of these covers, however. You could still use the foil as a further deterrent.

| ![]() ^^This reminds me, at the pet stores there are pads for couches that act as deterrents for pets. I think the pads have prickly things (not really harmful, just uncomfortable).

| ![]() Sure...papier mache would work...you could maybe even cover an umbrella, or part of it, with plastic wrap and masking or packaging tape, and papier mache over that, then fold the umbrella up after it has dried. You would just need something the right size to begin with. Even a nice big beach ball or snowman inflatable Christmas decoration and you could just let the air out.

| ![]() Oooo...remember the "Dogloos"...the doghouse that looks like an igloo? Well, we used to have one...the huge size...we gave it away 'cuz the dog only went in there once. They came in several sizes, and are 2-piece...the dome, and the base. I don't know if they even still make them, but they were hard plastic and I don't see why a portion couldn't be sawed so it would fit over Andy's middle like a train tunnel. Oh wait...in the US they are still out there...here's a pic...(maybe I need meds...lol)

| ![]() Oh wow!!!!! ![]() It never ceases to amaze me, the thought and care of the members of YT, thank you Jeanie!!! ![]() Yep, Andy's been 'starving' for the past 36 hours, had his 'clearance medicine' ![]() I decided to order the over-bed-hospital-table thingy from Amazon, rather than use one from the hospital itself (thought that might have brought home additional problems that we just don't need!) which has arrived and been set up....and yes, Harry launched himself up onto the bed...and then ground to a halt....wooo hooo!!! He won't go near it! Even when it's not over Andy (I keep testing it) he keeps sidling past it, giving it the evil-eye.....poor unsuspecting, innocent table!!! ![]() Between us all, we solved the problem - and I (and Andy! ![]() Last edited by Harrysmum; 02-12-2013 at 10:06 AM. |

| ![]() Thank you Morgan!! ![]() And Harry says he can't wait for you all to come and visit one year during Wimbledon fortnight, so he and Georgie can go and jump on that nasty old table....probably giving it a big chew on the way.... ![]() |
