| What else were you going to name your pup? What were the other name choices you had..... For Joel it would have been something from Avatar: The Last Airbender either Aang, Sokka or Appa, lol Or Zac after Zac Efron (Hey, no judging,HAHA) But the second my sister and I thought of Joel(from Good Charlotte) we knew it was the right name |

| Luma was almost Bijou. As in...I was deadset on it and told the breeder to start calling her that. Bf hated it...I think she's definitely a Luma and I can't imagine calling her anything else! Just don't tell DBF that... Our new baby we are bringing home in April will be named Keaton, but we were also thinking of naming him Pixel.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Before I adopted Dexter I knew that he was going to be a Dexter. I never had any doubts or a second choice. I had already had the name picked out, and the second I picked him out I knew that it was going to fit! Clyde on the other hand was going to be: Butler, Gerard, Julius Cesar, Cicero, Milo, and a couple of other Roman names that I can no longer remember |

| Max was going to be Winston for Winston Churchill, with the nickname Winnie, which means friend. But, Max didn't look like a Winston so we changed our minds.

| Ruby Sioux was going to be Izzy, Deja (for Deja vu she looked like Lola), Pippa...the list goes on...a friend called me one day all excited saying she had found the perfect name...Ruby...the minute I heard it I knew that was her perfect name. Sioux came from my favorite college hockey team. Rosie's registered name is Little Mitzy Me. The breeder called her Mitzy- she refused to come to me with that name. So I tried to come up w a name that went w Ruby...the first time I called her Rosie, she came running. Rosie has "old soul" eyes and I love talking to her and looking into her eyes...its like she hears and understands even on bad days. That's why I think her name fits..Rosie just seems like an old compassionate sweet name.

Luma is the name of a character in a videogame, Super Mario Galaxy...Luma is a baby star who is Mario's best friend. They're tiny, happy, and make little squeaks...just like my little Luma! Lol... Keaton sounds like a more normal name, but I got the idea from another videogame series, Legend of Zelda. Keatons are kitsunes...kitsunes are a mythical fox animal. ETA: Luma (or lumi) is also a photography term involving the brightness of the image. I just thought it was super cute and a happy name.

| Carmen - are you the video game fan? That's awesome! I was going to ask if Luma was named for the star but thought it was too geeky...

Yesterday Luma's regular groomer was overbooked, so we just took her to petsmart for ear shaping, corner of the eyes, and nails...of course they called her Luna and actually asked me if I had typo'd my own dog's name on her tags.
