Honestly we don't know if that happened or not. I know I sure never got any pms from people saying how sorry they are SHE called me names but whatever. People tend to get defensive when they know what they are doing is wrong.

I honestly try not to judge anyone because anyone who reads my past posts when I first joined knows that Laddy my very first yorkie did indeed come from a puppy mill and that I was dumb enough to think I might want to be a breeder so I try to understand that it takes some reading here to really understand the wrong in that thinking. I think maybe she came here already knowing it was wrong to breed these little ones and was maybe trying to justify that but who knows. I really hate to see new members get offended and leave before they learn what is really best for our beloved Yorkies.

Nana I know what your saying when I first came here I actually was so uninformed about Yorkie health problems that I pm'd a member can't remember who and complemented her on her adorable "teacup" Yorkie who turned out to have a LP and I wanted to know where I could get one lol I just had NO clue luckily I contacted a friendly member who was nice enough to educate me and not bash. I truly was not trying to bash the OP all I did was crack up over the "frisky breeder" comment on the website and agree that it's bad to breed small dogs :/ I'm with you though unfortunately I think people get overly defensive when they are already aware what they are doing is wrong. It's sad because no one was looking to hurt her or was looking to be out to get here members here are 9 times out of 10 just looking to save an owner some heart ache and educate.... Too bad she missed out on getting to know a lot of wonderful people for sure and I hate that

You state the age of the breeders as being in their 60's and having done this type of breeding for many years as though that was a good thing? Older people were once younger people and their ethics do not change with age. These people are making money by breeding poor quality stock and endangering the health and very lives of the dogs.

It is not the fault of the poor animals being abused by these people. It it is the very fact that these people exploit animals to make a living and they are also exploiting the public by selling poor quality dogs for a price that truthfully they are not worth. It is genetically impossible not to create defects in the breed while breeding for the tiny size only. That is what this breeder is doing.

Sorry you don't care to hear the truth but this is a pubic forum and many of the people here do care about the well being of the Yorkshire Terrier breed as a whole. The type of breeder you are defending is exploiting and degrading the breed while ripping off the general public that has no knowledge of what is involved in producing healthy well balanced purebred dogs.

I really don't think you guys realize how a number of you appear to others.

There is really if you don't think, act, believe the way that we do, then you're not a good kind of person vibe from a number of members of this forum. I know, because I have experienced it several times myself, even when asking questions I truly wanted to know the answer to. Because I don't accept because <insert authority here> says so answers, I was told I was stirring the pot, or that I was deliberately trying to start trouble, or being a troll. I educate myself and do my own research, and act on what I have learned, and just because reasons are NOT good enough for me. And because of that, I was told I had an agenda (several times), my posts are too long, and was told why not go ask the maltese people, even though the question I had had nothing to do with maltese, and I don't own one, and will never own one. It was as though it was being implied that I should go ask the maltese people because I was thinking about cross breeding for Morkies.

And just as the OP posted that she had a number of people apologizing for the behavior of those on this board, SO DID I. I had a number of private messages saying they felt the way I did, but WERE AFRAID TO SAY SO because of the way people were attacked on the board for having the opinions that they had.

As to why people stay when they experience this kind of behavior, it's simple, this is the largest Yorkie forum on the web. This is where there is going to be the most information and the largest concentration of Yorkie people. If that means dealing with some people whom have an online presence you don't much care for, then it's worth it. But it also means NOT sharing things with this forum, because of the things that people will say, almost as a knee jerk reaction. And not because you 're ashamed of it, but because you don't want to have to deal with people tell you how wrong and terrible you are for doing the things you do.

There are people on this board that will openly have the opinion that I should not make the choices I have for my dogs, not because I am doing anything that is hurtful to my dogs, or to the breed, but because in their opinion what I am doing is wrong. And with no facts, just knee jerk reactions repeating back what they have been told, just because they have been told this enough times, by enough people (usually on this forum) and with enough authority, that they just go along with the pack.

I guess I am secure enough in my own self that I don't need the approval of anyone but myself. I've lived my live doing the cha cha to a rhythm only I can hear anyway, so I don't care. But I'm not stupid enough to borrow trouble either.

Since I am NOT on this board to stir the pot, I'm NOT on this board to troll and I'm NOT on this board because of some kind of agenda, I do NOT share personal information about my dogs aside from the benign, because it's just not worth the fight that OTHER people will bring to my threads because they don't like MY choices which do not affect them, their dogs, or the breed..

The world isn't as black and white as some people would like to have it be. I asked a question on one of those so called controversial posts, and I can ask it again with a bit of rewording (This is a rhetorical question, I know the answer). If there is a yorkie breeder that does EVERYTHING that a CoE breeder does, shows their dogs, same contracts, same genetic tests, but uses the word teacup in their website, are they reputable.
There will be a number of people that will say NO, this person is a terrible, unethical breeder, because they use the word teacup on their website.
That's what I mean by black and white viewpoint and knee jerk emotional reaction. This board is full of that, but it's what you have to live with to experience the rest of what the board has to offer.

Default Why can't we at least try to stay on topic?

I have selected several responses from the OP. It is very clear not once, not twice, but three times she re-iterated what her question was.

I've already purchased a pup from her. The one in my avatar. On her site under the new puppies section she actually shows Grim as a baby and has my name by him! She also has a video that shows her dogs live inside and are taken care of! I'd really like to talk to someone who has went with her before though. Just to hear their experiences and see their dogs. I can't find a soul who has went with her so maybe that's a good sign. She sells a lot of puppies so you would think there would be at least one person here on YT! Like I said I don't want the breeder to read this and feel offended because she has been nothing but sweet to me but I just wanted to meet someone else and get their experiences

I asked if someone had received a puppy from her because I wanted to meet them. I still welcomed everyone's advice because I know that people are trying to help. These puppies were NOT raised in a puppy mill, were NOT sold in a puppy store, ARE treated well, and she does very much care for her dogs. Just because I don't go with the one route you think is suitable, doesn't make me evil to animals or dogs. As I said in my previous post, if I did happen to have the chance to get another dog, I would try and get a Durrer.
I read this as trying to work with this group and YET still try to get her question answered.

While everyone is free to offer off topic advice, it would serve a whole lot of others well to at least make some germane attempt to answer her question.

Maybe it could go something like this:

Her First Post "xxxxx...xxxx... anyone bought from Connies tinies?

Response: No I am sorry I have no knowledge of this breeder. Have you searched on here for her kennel name, and or first/last name for her?

Perhaps you could ask the breeder if she has placed any of her puppies in Newfoundland or even PEI or Nova Scotia.

Second Post by OP:

Note: this is a long post. There is something driving this woman to all of sudden want to meet another owner. After all she states she had purchased her first dog from this breeder, and now wants another puppy from the self same breeder. So why now does she really want to meet another purchaser?

But hey no-one picks up on this. Postings again are not helpful to the OP's original question.

Third Post:

Yet again she tries to explain, albeitly more shortly, and now feels the need to defend herself.

A rhetorical question does any-one really wonder why?

It would appear to me that if you want to truly educate some-one, one needs to understand that "closed eyes/ears" makes a message very hard to hear/see.

It would seem a logical approach to at least first give some modicum of response to the OPs original question. Then to "show" you are willing and eager on her behalf - you found the breeder in question; and wanted to share some concerns you had... EVEN THOUGH she did not ask for your opinion of the breeder.

And now I take this thread yet again "off the topic of the OP's original question".

Belle Noir I completely agree! You will see plenty of that here by certain people and I hate to see new members being chased away. You are right there are some here that only see black and white on some things that can be a little pointless at times( I am not saying calling pups teacups is a pointless argument btw). However you have to understand In this particular situation it was question about a breeder breeding 2 pound dogs... There are not any ethics in that and no one could ever tell me that something should not be said. Now with that 2 cents I will also say MANY times manners are forgotten in the other situations you are referring to because people are sitting behind a computer screen and only thinking about the topic and not the fact that there is another person on the other side of that computer with very real feelings and I think they just get focused on the topic. As you said I too have seen it many times. And when I was new I'm sure I was the brunt of some of it. If not here then I know on another forum. People have to remember there are all kinda of people on here. Different strokes for different foulks. But the op did ask about a breeder who was doing something no one can deny is dangerous. It's just how it is. I don't know that because people have repeated it over and over I know that because I have one close friend that breeds and another who is a vet. Now whether when she asked she question she wanted to know what she was told really doesn't matter it's a public forum and when you ask a generalized question like that about a breeder there's a chance you're going to get all kinds of answers. I don't feel like I was harsh in any way towards her or forced any opinions on her. In fact I feel like I was kind right up until she flipped out on me. Comments were never even made about her in fact. They were all made about the breeder breeding 2 pound dogs and talking about how that was not safe. I believe judging by looking at her past posts her puppy was sick too when she got it. That may be a complete coincidence but to me I would think it most likely speaks back to the breeder and the conditions. That's nothing I can know though those are just my thoughts and that's why I never posted them to hurt her feelings while she was still a member.

You're right it was not kept on topic I see what your saying. I only really lightly read the beginning posts to start with because I really did post back to her on detail in the beginning only looked at the website and laughed about a frisky breeder comment. You are right though it does seem she made that very clear.

This thread was simply to educate her and anyone else who reads it with FACTS not just opinions but big big FACTS! Look closer and she how no one ever called her a name yet she called me names. You will not find a breeder good like that who uses the word teacup and if there is please give me the name and or website because I would love to see it. This was not just about the word teacup this was about the breeder putting her female breeding dogs in danger by breeding them when they are under 5 pounds. I don't like the word teacup but I am more upset by the danger she is putting her females in. Also an off topic side note about the morkie thing. A good breeder breeds to better the breed and that is a FACT. Therefore breeding a mix is not a breed there fore you can not better it. I look at all the great things YorkieTalk has done for people yet all some people can do focus on is the bad and its so darn sad.

I disagree. After being here on YT for almost two years....and seeing the same few people stir the pot...on numerous threads...how could they be not to realize?

Honestly I am not sure any of us have not had our opinions or posts at one time or another viewed negatively on here and been yelled at. I know I certainly have been many times and yes it hurt my feelings at times but I love YT and I love the breed enough to stay and keep learning about our beloved yorkies. I think if we take time to read here we all or most of us anyway know how others feel about a lot of things concerning breeding. I have made some mistakes and almost made a huge one wanting to breed. Personally I thank God for YT and all the informed breeders who showed me how wrong I was for this. Yes some of them were harsh but they did it out of love for the breed. I personally have gotten emails from others defending me and have sent many myself apologizing but in the end it really is an open forum and though most of us strive to be polite sometimes we react without thinking.
