| I was so busy yesterday I missed this thread. I was so relieved to hear everything turned out okay! I use Healthymouth a water additive and I have not had to do a dental cleaning on Buster yet. He is due for his yearly checkup but last year his Veterinarian Dentist was impressed by his lack of plaque (She is the one who recommended the product). Buster never balked when I switched from plain bottled water to adding this product. I make up a gallon jug and keep it in the fridge. It is not cheap but worth every penny. From their page Recommended by leading board certified veterinary dentists around the world, dog::ESSENTIAL healthymouthTM is the first and only dental water additive to receive the prestigious VOHC(R) Seal of Acceptance for plaque control in dogs. Its patented formula contains 100% human grade ingredients, is free of all synthetic, artificial ingredients, alcohol and contains NO calories, fat, sugar or sodium dog::essential | Healthy Mouth LLC | the healthy choice for your dog, cat, horse

| It's the enzyme action that helps to neutralize the bad bacteria in the mouth that causes the plaque. With the problem that Tibbe has you can' be sure how much it would help but since he just had a dental this would be a very good time to start one of these products. He has clean teeth so you would not have the concern of the plaque coming off and being swallowed. Enzymes could very well slow down the formation of plaque so you may be able to go longer between cleanings. Since the natural enzymes only deal with the bad bacterial in the mouth it is unlikely to cause stomach issues but you certainly could talk to your vet about the the possible use of one of these products. |

| Oh, thanks for asking. Oh, he had a bad tummy night last night and so far today. Don't know if it's related or not but tummy gassy, not hardly eating since breakfast yesterday. He's a bad grazer outside and he did snap up something and was smacking his lips by the time I could get "leave it!" out of my mouth. Got ok for a bit of Pepto and simethicone and Famotidine 1/4 tab q 12 hours. I'm just sitting holding him and putting him on the warm heating pad from time to time for his tummy. LOL, I think I'm going to start having to muzzle him out in the back yard!!! He'll eat anything!
