| I got 0 to 3 month onsies, have washed them and tried them on and they fit Zoe perfectly. So I am now the night before and so upset, I just can't imagine turning her over to them, I wish so bad I could be in the operating room with her. I am going to stay at the vet and as soon as she comes to the vet said I could be there next to her. I will sit by her all day until the vet thinks she is good enough to come home. But seriously how do you take your baby for something like this? I don't want to do it at all, I am sitting here thinking of all the what ifs. I can't imagine life without her. |

| I have gone through this and know how scary this is for you. My heart and prayers will be with you and Zoe tomorrow. She may cry a bit, but Zoe is going to be fine. I'm sure the doctor will give her pain medication and that you will be there to give Zoe all of the love and care that she needs.

The fact that you are going to stay there will help you. I'm that annoying mom that calls the vet's office every hour to check on things...

| Well it's over and went better than I expected. My vet was awesome. When I got there at 7 am they actually gave me my own room for Zoe and I right next to the surgery room with a sofa. They took her to draw her blood and brought her back to me while they ran the tests. Once we got the results of that the vet took her to give her a shot to make her sleepy and brought her back again until they were ready for surgery. She was asleep in my arms when the vet took her from me. She came back in about 40 minutes later and said the spay was over and she was ready to pull her baby teeth. In another 30 minutes the vet brought her to me to hold while she woke up. I got to sit and just hold her for the next 5 hours while she came to. The vet would come in the room every 15 mi it's or so, take her temperature and check on her. Once her fluids were done in her IV bag she decided I could take her home. She is doing so well tonight. Just sleeping on my lap. I would certainly advise every owner to insist on staying with their baby and holding them after surgery instead of just putting the. In a kennel. She only had to be away from me for about an hour all day. It was awesome and I love my vet! And I love my Zoe! |

| I had never considered it before either, but the closer it got the more I realized she has never been in the hands of a stranger, she has never been alone in a strange place, and she hates being in a kennel. That combinations seems very stressful. When I called last week to make last minute arrangements I told the receptionist what I was going to do and she acted like I was out of my mind and commented that it wasn't normal practice to stay and it could be all day. I then asked her if she had children and when she said yes, I asked her if she would take her 2 year old child to the hospital, drop her off at the door and pick her up that night. That sort of got her. I usually go with the flow and don't push the rules, but when it comes to my baby that is a different story, I figure since I am paying them to work for me I can demand whatever I want. So glad I did and I would recommend any one with a baby to not just do whatever they tell you, but to fight for your baby. The vet was amazed at how well she did and how well she woke up, hmmmm could it have something to do with the fact that she was in her mommas hands, hearing her mommas voice as she was waking up instead of being in a hard, cold, kennel? |

| What a great experience! So glad all is going well. I'm going to PM you for the name of your vet. I know the clinic and they have a great reputation. Will keep you and Zoe in our prayers.

| Thinking about you and your baby. How is Zoe feeling? It's so difficult to see our little ones in pain or sick. I hope that Zoe is feeling better really soon. I'm glad that you waited a little longer to get her spayed. From what I have learned, it is better for them to go through their first heat. I worried so much when one of my little girls went into heat before we got her spayed. We were waiting for the teeth to come in so that we could extract her baby teeth at the same time, and she went into heat earlier than expected. Ashley lived just a month shy of seventeen. Please give Zoe some extra kisses from Katie and me.
