| ![]() It is so sad that people with experience and education are without work. Companies are letting go of seasoned employees to cut expenses but actually it is more expensive to hire and develop new employees. |

| ![]() Thanks so much everyone for the words of inspiration. The initial shock is over and I have to focus on trying to move forward. It is indeed a sad world where dedication to a company brings no rewards. I am an IT specialist and worked for a major bank in Canada. I know there are other jobs out there and am going to work closely with the Career Transition team offered to me and try to sort out a new path. I will try to remain positive and remind myself that I always did my job to the best of my abilities and my ratings were always high. Unfortunately my body would no longer cooperate lifting 105lb servers and I know that was the reason for them picking me off. This weekend the Christmas decorations are going up and I am going to try to keep things as normal as possible. Having lived through both a divorce and the loss of my oldest son to suicide weeks before his 18th birthday I know I can get through this too. I am sure I will have my good days and bad days and am thankful for the support of people around me who show they care. |
