Thanks so much everyone for the words of inspiration. The initial shock is over and I have to focus on trying to move forward. It is indeed a sad world where dedication to a company brings no rewards.

I am an IT specialist and worked for a major bank in Canada. I know there are other jobs out there and am going to work closely with the Career Transition team offered to me and try to sort out a new path.

I will try to remain positive and remind myself that I always did my job to the best of my abilities and my ratings were always high. Unfortunately my body would no longer cooperate lifting 105lb servers and I know that was the reason for them picking me off.

This weekend the Christmas decorations are going up and I am going to try to keep things as normal as possible.

Having lived through both a divorce and the loss of my oldest son to suicide weeks before his 18th birthday I know I can get through this too.

I am sure I will have my good days and bad days and am thankful for the support of people around me who show they care.
