| ***Tibbe's Microchip Information Partly Missing/Wrong!!! From Storm or What???*** Since Tibbe's Microchip company, Home Again, is located in New Jersey I've been a little worried, so just in case, I decided better safe than sorry so I went online to double-check his information in case they had had to do a system restore or something. I couldn't log in as his microchip number did not match the information they have on their records, according to a red alert!!!! Yikes! I called them, chose one of the non-emergency options, held x13 minutes, only to get a recording asking me to leave a message. When they didn't call back within 30 minutes, I worried & called back, punched in a number to talk to a vet(just to speak to someone) and got a lady at ASPCA's Poison Line who said they were having some phone issues after the storm but she thought all was okay now and they should call soon. About an hour later, Home Again called. The lady verified my contact information and didn't know why it wouldn't let me in or why the alert. She gave me another, temporary password, I ordered a yellow Home Again I.D. tag for his harness while she was on the phone, disconnected and I logged in to their website. The contact information for me was correct but no longer was there any secondary contact information or backup phone numbers listed! His vet's phone number was incorrect - not even a number in this city! His breed was listed as "Other" and his color was incorrect! No license # listed, weight or anything like that anymore. No photo! I corrected the information that was incorrect and filled in all the missing, uploaded his current photo and logged off. I logged back on to be sure all was still loaded in and correct and it was. Whew! I am so glad I worried and decided to check. It has been about 1 1/2 years since I checked last but with storms, system failures sometimes and system upgrades, changes at companies, etc., it never hurts to verify that your Yorkie's microchip information online is ALL correct and present. Check those vet phone numbers and other contact names and numbers, too! You never know this day and time what might happen to cause a system to lose info and have to be restored. I don't know what happened to cause Tibbe's chip info to be incomplete or just wrong in some areas nor do I know if the recent storm affected it but I know things do happen to computer databases so check your dog's microchip information to be safe.

| Have your Vet check during checkup. Make sure it scans. You will know if the info is there also |

| They scan every visit but I'm sure they don't check backup numbers or anything such as his color, breed type etc. Or maybe they do and the info was there when he was last in this summer - who knows? That's kind of the point of my posting - apparently info can drop out or off if a file is corrupted or a restore is incomplete or a glitch occurs.

| Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would have never considered the storm causing computer errors with HomeAgain. It was a good thing that you thought to check Tibbe's information. I hate to think of the nightmare you would've went through, God forbid he were to ever get lost. I just checked Yazmin's information and everything was correct. Thank you again! |

| But they do scan and didn't inform me some of the info wasn't there so it must have been all there then or they don't check on all that data at the vet's, as many don't, I would imagine. But if he is ever lost, I want to know that info is there and am sure you all do, too, if you have chipped dogs. I'd suggest everybody checking each dog's microchip info fairly frequently, especially after storms, floods, earthquakes, known power outages in the area of the chip company. It's something I didn't think about until I heard New Jersey was affected and that Home Again is located there. Still, I never thought his info would be partly wrong or missing altogether, which is why I didn't check sooner. It had only been a bit over a year since last updated. So glad I did check though.

| Thanks for the reminder. I didn't know where Home Again was based. Even if I did, I don't know that I would have thought to verify Kiko's info because of the storm and power outages. Kiko's info was accurate. I should probably put a reminder on my calendar to check her info periodically. |

| I think I'm gonna try to remember to check at the beginning of the new season - first day of winter, spring, summer, etc. It's probably overkill but at least I'll know nothing else happened! I've heard of data loss, etc., but never thought it would happen to me or mine!!!

| Has anyone tried their info against petmicrochiplookup.org? I have Uni's updated via Avid years ago and this website have never had her number updated. Only to say they think that number belongs to Avid. Have any of you had success looking up the microchip number on an site other than the brand of chip's site?
