| My thoughts are with you, I hope you all and your pets stay safe, those who live in those areas. I'm all the way over in Iceland and I'm even staying in for the night, not a storm here just very cold and windy, nasty weather but not nearly as bad as yours, we always get the ''rest'' of the hurricane :P I have crossed fingers as I don't pray (I'm not religious)!

| We got through the night pretty well. We are not all that far from NYC. They had the storm track coming on shore and then going north because of the jet stream blocking it from continuing west. Well, something happened because it did not turn due north as predicted. If it had we would have gotten it much worse. We had some high winds but the tornados that came through during the summer were much worse. I have 2 indoor cats and 3 others that stay outside except when they come in to eat. The woods are their life so when I wouldn't let them out last night after they ate I had one heck of a time! They kept trying to scratch at the blinds on my bedroom window all night in order to let me know they wanted out. Finally got the spray bottle out to stop that behavior! So it's quite cold and wet out now with rain off and on. I decided not to take Gracie out today. With the cold and wet and the leaves all over the ground she is at a disadvantage. She wants to walk where she can smell things but that means going into the wet grass and leaves. She is so little that some of the leaves are almost as big as she is and the small leaves stick to her fur. She would be a mess by the time we got back and I'm not up for another bath today. There is a whole neighborhood in the NYC area that got flooded and then burned down last night. At least 80 homes. Say a prayer for them. They don't know how many have died as they can't get to all the places yet due to the water level. It's a disaster at the coastline of NY and NJ. |

| Well, Dyan, it is good to hear you are ok. Re: Carmen - Is she home or did she evacuate with her dogs, do you know? Smart to go to a hotel and just get out of it if you can. Stay safe as you all have to live in areas with so much damage and power loss, closed tunnels, stores, businesses, clinics, traffic snarls and maybe shortages in time. I pray it starts to get better fast.

| After the hurricane made landfall in NJ, it turned a bit and the eye came right over us. We are so fortunate to have made it through without damage. A large portion of our neighbors were evacuated, and many were flooded when the bay and river rose. I have been so worried about our YT family. I pray everyone is safe and that they suffered no property damage. It sounds like clean up will begin today as people are allowed back to their homes again. Kathy- (KJC) is all well at your home? I think you are closer to the river than I am. Internet has been spotty at Mom's house. I hope that's resolved by early next week.

| Spent the hurricane in Myrtle Beach. Just wind and rain on Saturday there. Drove home to Virginia yesterday on I95. Must have passed at least 50 utility trucks driving north from Florida, Georgia and Alabama probably on their way to NJ & NY. Pleased to see no damage, loss of power or trees down at my house! Lost 11 trees in Isabel. Sure is chilly here now. |

| I have cousins headed up to the East Coast to help restore power....caravan left from Texas I think the day before the storm came ashore...they were trying to get positioned close enough to be immediately accessable when the storm had passed...prayers are with you all.....God knows we in Texas know EXACTLY what you are going through...hang in there because it is going to be a considerable amount of time before you are put back together again.... | I don't know Carmen either but I am concerned about anyone that was in the path of that storm. I looked up the town she has listed as being where she is and it is not on the coast but she is near a lake. The worst devastation was near the coast but she may very well be without power as much of NJ is. There were pictures of her area and there are a lot of trees and power lines down. Those poor people look so cold. It is very cold and damp right now. I hope they have some alternate way to heat their home. I am hearing it is going to take at least a week to get electricity working again so unless they move out of the area we may not hear from her for a while if her power is out. |
