We got through the night pretty well. We are not all that far from NYC. They had the storm track coming on shore and then going north because of the jet stream blocking it from continuing west. Well, something happened because it did not turn due north as predicted. If it had we would have gotten it much worse. We had some high winds but the tornados that came through during the summer were much worse.
I have 2 indoor cats and 3 others that stay outside except when they come in to eat. The woods are their life so when I wouldn't let them out last night after they ate I had one heck of a time! They kept trying to scratch at the blinds on my bedroom window all night in order to let me know they wanted out. Finally got the spray bottle out to stop that behavior! So it's quite cold and wet out now with rain off and on.

I decided not to take Gracie out today. With the cold and wet and the leaves all over the ground she is at a disadvantage. She wants to walk where she can smell things but that means going into the wet grass and leaves. She is so little that some of the leaves are almost as big as she is and the small leaves stick to her fur. She would be a mess by the time we got back and I'm not up for another bath today.

There is a whole neighborhood in the NYC area that got flooded and then burned down last night. At least 80 homes. Say a prayer for them. They don't know how many have died as they can't get to all the places yet due to the water level. It's a disaster at the coastline of NY and NJ.
