| Floppy ears- am I crazy? Am I crazy that I WANT Blazer's ears to stay floppy? I like how they look when the stand up (as they do from time to time) and I know that it "standard" but 1: He isn't purebred (he's 1/4 Shih-tzu) 2: His floppy ears really keep him looking like a puppy 3: Most people I know with Yorkies tell me that they couldn't wait for their pup's ears to stand up then after they did wished that they had stayed floppy. I won't be upset if his ears decide to stand up on their own but I'm just not planning on helping them get that way. Know what I mean? So am I crazy? Should I leave them and see what nature has planned or should I clip the hair and help them stand? What are YOUR thoughts? Do you love the erect ears or the floppy ears or does it even matter to you?

| Hee hee! Our Harry flops all over the place.... When he's doing his 'inquisitive look' - just one ear goes up, and then he looks like a puppy on television or on a greetings card...... I too love the floppy eared look, but then I think they're ALL adorable! Sally + Harry x |

| It's funny how me and my husband were talking about Rosie's ears today. Apparently, most Yorkie's ears stay up. However, Rosie has large ears (just like Dumbo, maybe exaggerating a bit) hehe! but I like them floppy

| Floppy ears are cute but I couldn't wait for Joels ears to stand up, lol I always wanted him to look like a big boy and my sister and mom didn't want me trimming his ears. Now his ears are up and pointy |

| I love floppy ears so much I semi fought it out with Princess' breeder to not crop her ears, despite ruining her show potential. Well I take it back now, deapite ear plucking and excessive cleaning my poor mini schnauzer gets chronic yeast infections. Finally a total dietary change gas stopped them. Scoobers ears are the reason I love floppies, however his are erect at the base and the very ends flop down...maybe because he is a Schnorkie, mini schnauzer yorkie hybrid...he has the yorkie base but mini schnauzer tips. However Scoobers has a significant amount of scar tissue in his ears from a massive infection, this may be what actually errects his ears. Elvis' ears go up and down...if shaved they stay up quite a bit more but with hair they stick out and flop over. Do I like the look if floppy ears...yes.. now knowing the cleanibess and health issues of them, the look has lost it's appeal.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I don't think pet owners should be overly concerned with standard, it's really meant as a breeding guide to breeders. I believe in supporting breeders who breed to standard, because this will insure that the Yorkshire Terrier breed survives into the future and looks like a Yorkie as we know it, but as pet owners we should love them "as is." I love floppy ears as well, and since your dog is part Shih Tzu, I don't think you'll have a problem with them staying floppy. Do what makes you happy!

| I love the upright look of the Yorkie ears. It gives them that very attentive look. I had a Shih Tzu for 15 years and I really wanted Gracie's ears to stand. I wanted a dog that would be totally different so I would not be comparing it to my Shih Tzu. If you prefer floppy ears that is your preference. Apparently many Yorkie owners have dogs whose ears are floppy and they are just as sweet as the ones whose ears are up. I think you would like the up ears if you got accustomed to them. They can be very expressive with them. |

| First, you are not crazy. Lol, with my little Henri I get the best of both worlds, one ear is always up and the other one is always down
