| *****It's 1:00 a.m., Tibbe Still Sitting By The Window Watching.....***** My little faithful guard dog is still sitting at the big front living room window up on my sewing basket with the tufted top, watching at full attention, his ears as pricked and his gaze as intent as it was 2 hours ago, guarding the house! We were in bed, Tibbe sounds asleep, when he heard something and tore off the bed, down the hall and into the living room, standing up with his paws on the bottom edge of the almost floor-length window, barking crazily at whatever was out there - probably a cat. I brought my sewing basket to the window which has an unused pincushion top and he jumped up on it, sitting like a little stone statue on it. He has been watching out that window now from the sewing basket, erect as a soldier, for over 2 hours. Occasionally he growls or even barks a bit when he catches sight of or hears something. Apparently he heard the neighbor's cat when she let it out when this all started - and it may still be coming into the yard from time to time, I don't know. I heard no meowing or anything and I can't see anything when I look out, but Tibbe still waits and watches. I wonder how long he will watch out that window. I'm waiting too, huddled under an afghan on the den couch, watching some late, late, late TV, until the mission is over and we can go to bed. God bless my little 24/7 Security Guard - he's always on duty, keeping us safe!

| Tibbe is one determined watchdog for sure!! lol. However, that had to be more than a little startling to wake up like that , and it probably initially scared you! I am glad that he scared off whatever it was, and hopefully all of you will be able to get some sleep soon!! But, I'm glad Tibbe is keeping watch and keeping his family safe |

| Way to go Tibbe! Something woke him up, and he felt the need to go into protect mode. So I say let him stand guard all night if he feels the need to. He needs/wants to protect his family.

| It's morning and I fell asleep on the den couch very early this morning while Tibbe watched. When I woke up, Tibbe was cuddled on the afghan with me(it's very cold this morning) and we survived the night on the couch. I have no idea what time he gave up his watching. It was after 1:30 a.m. when I turned off the TV and he was still sitting there. Better go turn off the outside lights - it will be daylight soon.

But he was acting pretty much like he acts when he hears a cat outside. He does kind of have a special "cat mode" and nothing - squirrels, people or anything will usually cause him to watch and wait like a cat. From the way he acts, I think half of him wants to catch it and do who knows what and half of him wants to catch it and ask it to play with him - you can tell he's torn. And if it's a person, you know they can hear his caterwauling & wild-scream barking that he does late at night if he hears anything he doesn't like! He has a different, wild bark for the darkest, wee hours! Will shatter your very last nerve to wake up to that in your ear!!! That's got to run anybody but the nastiest potential criminal away. And then he watches out the window for hours!

| He awoke for breakfast a while back and is back sound asleep. My little security guard is getting his well-earned rest today after staying up who knows how long? I brought him a soft pillow in from the bedroom to the couch & he's on his back snoring on that!
