| my great day turned to crap sun was shinning and it is was in the 70's which is not normal for the end of Oct in MI, so I knocked off early and set out for a nice walk with Lola, not even 10 min into, I stopped to talk with a friend, we were close to the spot on the lake Lola likes to swim at, so while I was talking I did not realize she was trying to get in the lake, I also did not realize the area she was in was covered with little black needle like thicket prickers. Once we started walking I notice she is biting at her feet and I was horrified to see she was covered with black prickers or what ever they call them. I carry her home, and get some tweezers and take her up to my room where I figure I will watch a TV show that I had taped. I turned on the TV and then dropped the remote and in trying to grab for it, I knocked a pretty full can of diet coke all over my light beige carpet, so I put Lola down while I started to blot it up but since Lola was biting at her feet I did not want her to swallow any of the needles, so I picked her up and put her under my arm while I tried dealing with the carpet, half a can of coke makes a big mess. It took me about an 1.5 hours to get Lola free of stickers, she was trooper and stood still most of the time, she finally started struggling when I had to put her on her back. I stopped counting after 100 stickers. I still have to deal with the rest of the coke, but needed a break, so LOL I had ice cream and Lola had a nice treat. Now of course the sun is going down For those of you that walk remember it seems like fall is burr and thicket season so keep your guys out of those type of areas.

| Too bad. Not a nice way to spend the last of the nice weather. I hope her feet heal up alright. Do you have a carpet shampooer to get the rest of the coke out? We have been having problems with the leaves that have fallen off the trees. Some of them are almost as big as she is. Here in the north east it has been rainy so that means the leaves tend to get mold on them. I have had to limit our walks to areas that don't have many leaves but I am running out of places like that! |

| Wow, that's a lot of stickers! I'm glad we don't really have things like that around here... Poor girl! Were they stuck in her skin or just her fur?

| that sounds like most of my days...we have some kind of stickers outside that stick to the bottom of your feet, they are like needles..I've stepped on them when I got one on bottom of my shoe and it fell off on floor, I almost went through the roof it hurt so bad, that was before I got Emy, god forbid if one of them went in her foot...I always look at the bottom of my shoes before I go in with her...and only take her to where I know they don't grow...horrible...maybe you should switch to the little bottles of pop that have a twist on/off top...LOL.. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | What a day, I hate those little stickers they are horrible. We get them in the spring. If you have some corn starch handy, it helps getting rid of them. It absorbs all moisture from hair and makes it silky so that the stickers come out easily. Also, coke doesn't stain, and if you don't have something that sucks the moisture up, folding a towel and standing on it wicks up the moisture fairly easily. I know what you mean though, when it rains it pours! Hope your evening is better!

| Ohhhh, I know the kind of day you've had today and I can commiserate as days like that come my way all too frequently! Coke & stickers & all that picking and carpet cleaning instead of enjoying the day! Ugh! I feel your pain. Sounds like your little one was very good, though, getting those things picked from her little feet. Poor baby! Hope ya'll have a better night!

| thanks guys when my husband came home we went back out for another walk, we live on a lake and down the street is an island that sits between our two lakes and that's where we walk, we go across a small street that is a bridge, so we looked for the bushes and realized they were dead looking black branches that were sticking up from the water, they were all along the shore line. So I made sure to keep her on the blacktop and out of the lake. LOL I still have not been back in the room with the spilled coke, but nancy I did do what you suggested blotted it up with almost a whole paper towel roll an at the time it looked OK, but it had not dried yet. Here is the link to my face book photos, it really does not show how many stickers were in her but I know there were than a 100. Lola is a plucky little thing because as soon as her Dad walked through the door she was waiting with her toy to have him toss it, you would never know that she just spent an hour and half getting plucked, she really is a good little girl https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.ph...type=1&theater
