| Mrs. Beasley does this when we go camping. She will not stop and rubs her nose raw! I cover it with a napkin. She sniffs it, looks up at me as if to say "thanks mom, it's safe now."

| Gracie used to do the same thing when I would give her a treat that she didn't like. She would take it and try to "bury" it in the furniture or a blanket. The treats that she likes she eats right away but the ones she doesn't like the smell of she tries to bury. |

| All my Yorkies did this sometimes when they weren't going to eat something right then and I'd always assumed like ya'll they are attempting to bury it as they would do in the wild. But I never could tell why they do it only sometimes!

| Yeppers, that's exactly what he's doing. Burying it. My Peppy does this to the extreme. He will actually pick up the corner of his food mat and fold it over the food dish. Sometimes he will steal a piece of clothing from the dirty clothes basket to use as a food bowl cover. Who knows what goes through their minds ![]() |

| OMG! So typical yorkie behavior. It's "ritual" burying behavior. Never saw this until my current yorkie. I think it's a stress thing. Gotta bury the goods or they will go away. Don't worry about it, no healthy dog will starve itself. I take the food away when Lexie does this. She's telling me "not now" and I'll feed her later. Gotta keep them on a schedule. It helps
