OMG! So typical yorkie behavior. It's "ritual" burying behavior. Never saw this until my current yorkie. I think it's a stress thing. Gotta bury the goods or they will go away. Don't worry about it, no healthy dog will starve itself. I take the food away when Lexie does this. She's telling me "not now" and I'll feed her later. Gotta keep them on a schedule. It helps
