| Is my puppy a purebred Yorkie??? Hello. I'm new to YT. I've had my puppy since she was 8 weeks old. She is now 15 weeks old. I took my puppy to Petsmart with me a few weeks ago and one of the employees there claims that he has two older Yorkies and that my puppy might be mixed with Chihuahua or something. I even asked a different employee while I was at the cashier and she said the very same thing. The breeder that I bought her from said that she is defiantly a purebred Yorkie. I've only seen photos of the parents so I don't know if they are the actual parents or if the breeder lied to me about her being purebred. What do you guys think? |

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | That sure is a cute puppy. Check out my album for comparison pics. In the pictures where he is very little, he is 12-13 weeks. He was groomed for the first time at 20 weeks. I guess there are some similarities and some differences. Did your pup come with papers? You could do genetic testing if you feel like you could have been dooped.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk, what's your little girls name. She is a very pretty puppy and has such a sweet look about her. Like the others have said I really don't believe that she is a 100% yorkie. May I ask how much she weighs. Depending on what you paid and what you wanted, you could probably have her DNA tested and go back to the breeder. Yorkie pictures are a dime a dozen and the person that sold her to you could have gotten those photos anywhere. Just goggle yorkie puppy images and you will see what most look like. I have a mixed yorkie and that is what I wanted, but I knew that in advance. Regardless if she is purebred or a mix, please still stay a member because it is fun and you will learn lot of good tips on caring for your dog.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Welcome to YT ! Shes adorable, love those big beautiful eyes but if someone sold her to you as a pure breed I feel that you may have been tied to. In my opinion she is not pure breed but definitely a mix of some sort.

| She is very cute, but I do think her coat should look a little shaggier if she were all yorkie. What is the texture like? Is it more like "dog fur" or more like soft silky baby "hair"? Does she shed? My baby rarely loses a hair when i am holding her, not even on a white shirt. I have a mix too, she is a yorkipoo and she is the sweetest thing with the most even temperment (poodles are also low to no shedding). People are often surprised how friendly and non-yappy she is. I don't know if that's because she is a mix or if we just raised her right! Your little one is very cute. I think you should find out for sure what she is as you may be due some $$ back if you paid full breed price. Also, if you got a yorkie for allergy or non-shedding reasons, it may impact how you proceed....(though it would be rough to give her up--if allergy and shed are issues) Good luck! |

| Hi. Her name is Semaja. I had gotten her weighed at Petsmart when she was 12 weeks old and I believe she was about 41.5 oz. She is 15 weeks now so I'm not sure how much she weighs now. I only paid $125 for her. I tried calling and emailing the breeder for more information but she never answered my calls or replied back to any of my messages. I'm going to try to get her DNA tested when I take her to the vet this week for her shots. I really wanted a purebred Yorkie but if she is mixed then I'm still going to keep her because my family and I have gotten so attached to her. I know next time to do more research when I decide to purchase another Yorkie in the near future. Thanks!! |

| Ears, muzzle/mouth, forelegs. Definetelly not a purebred yorkie. She's beautiful whatever her breed, but if you paid a full price for a purebred yorkie, it's so wrong from the seller. I wouldn't even need a DNA test. Get the breeder.

| Yeah, unless you're getting it from a friend, you're not getting a purebred for $125. Regardless, as long as you weren't expecting to breed/show, it'll give you just as much enjoyment! |
