| Congrats on your new puppy. Good luck with socialization... We have all seen this before and I hope you aren't like the many others who come back wondering why your puppy won't stop biting or why they have other issues... 7 weeks is far to young and you are aware of that. Please don't leave your puppy alone for at least a month... He deserves at least that from you

| Puppies also rely on their mothers to provide anti bodies in their milk so blah blah blah to you saying 6 weeks is fine. You were incredibly irresponsible to take a pup at 6 weeks and I don't give a monkey what your vet says. They also get their nutrition education sponsored by hills science diet. Even vets make mistakes. |

| One thing to remember is that pious blood lines, vets or breeders who don't follow accepted patterns of keeping very young, tiny pups with the mom will none of them keep your baby safe at home and lead him through these next puppyhood weeks - only you can do that. Stay on this site, take the good advice of the many and watch him like a hawk for things that really can go wrong with a dog this young and this tiny. Your vet may not have had any experience with tinies or Yorkie so bear that in mind. Your breeder should have known better but perhaps they didn't. The people on this site have had years of experience caring for and getting this tiny breed through good and bad times so go with the words of those that have been there before and often and you can rarely go wrong. Read and study threads on here as you can and educate yourself on all the things you need to know, have the map to the Emergency Vet handy as any new puppy owner does and enjoy your Yorkie. They are the most wonderful breed!

Also most of the social skills are learned at this time. It is not just the food that is important!

| In the world of nature, mother's keep their young with them until they are months-old yearlings, for what it is worth. That's how important momma's are to young ones in all phases of caring, nurturing and healthy development.

Is your vet a toy breed specialist? Do they not know the health behavioal risks with this? You should ask your vet specifically about the long term behavioral effects and immediate health risks. The answers will undoubtable change your opinion. Btw these arent just random opinions these are guidelines created by reputable breeders based on medical and behavioral facts that vets and behavioralist will also attest to, nothing about this is randomly pulled from a pervervial thinking cap.

I hope more people who have also gotten pups too early share their personal stories. Some it worked out fine for but having been here a while, reading here a few years before actually joining, I have seen for most it was detramental and sadly very preventable

| YorkieTalk is better than this. Please let's keep ugliness off our site and keep the subject on dogs and our times with them.
