I've had frightened, and somewhat injured birds flying inside...try catching those, especially when they don't understand what the ceiling fan is and are ricocheting off your kitchen cabinet doors, more lizards than I can remember...it's a long list. They sure can be ingenious when bringing gifts!
Many years ago, I moved into a house where there was a mouse. My mom brought over one of her cats...a good mouser. I never saw the cat in my house...at all...until he'd caught the mouse...which he laid proudly in the doorway between my kitchen and dining room...then disappeared again. I looked everywhere for that cat but couldn't find his hiding space, and it was not a very large house, either. I told mom he'd caught the mouse, she came over to get him, he heard her voice and magically appeared.
They are too funny for words sometimes.
