| Is this yorkie mixed? Hello there everyone! newbie to the form and soon to be new owner to a 10/13 week old male Yorkie. The dog has with no papers (yes stupid, i know) but he looks really sweet! i don't mind if he is not a full breed Yorkie as long at he dosn't get bigger than 8lbs because i live in a small apartment and don't like bigger dogs except for pits. he looks like a Yorkie Russell mix which i would hate because their legs are long and funny looking but then again looks kinda like a Yorkie-ton or a Morkie?? i don't know just want some opinions that's all, alot of people told me yes and some said no. |

| He is an adorable little guy. Most terriers are. He looks like he could be a mix. Did you see both parents? He looks to be a pretty good size for the age you stated so i would not count on a 8lb dog. If size is really important to you I would not get the dog unless you have seen both parents and they are quite small. Even with that there is just no way someone can say for sure the dog will be 8lbs or under. Many people here have Yorkies that are 8, 12. 15 and on up to 20lbs. Many people tell stories about how the breeder told them that the puppy would not be larger than 5lbs and yet the dogs grow way beyond that. Personally, I don't think there is a thing in the world wrong with a 10 to 15lb dog. One of my friends lives in an apartment complex that has a 20lb maximum on dogs. But as I said if size is really important to you I would not take the risk although he is just adorable. |

| If you have a cut off for his weight... Please don't get him. What will you do if he gets over 8 pounds? There are a ton of yorkies on here that are purebred that weigh more than 8 pounds.

| He is very cute! Even being a yorkie he could get bigger then 8 pounds and you wont really know how big a dog is going to be until they are fully grown. My yorkie is 16 pounds and even at 16 pounds she seems small to me. Where are you getting this dog from? The person you are getting the dog from should know what the dog is unless you are getting him from a shelter or rescue.

| My first thought was Morkie, but I'm no expert. He's a doll, but will probably be bigger than 8 lbs. You said "he looks sweet". You have never met him in person? Where is he coming from? I'm a little concerned for you. What does the breeder say? What about his parents? Does he have any kind of health guarantee? By the way, welcome! We are glad you are here.

| Not a thing wrong with a 16lb dog! My Shih Tzu was 13lbs and he was the smallest dog in town (that we knew of ). We always thought of him as small....until I got Gracie! I think the larger Yorkies can be great family dogs. They have so much energy and are so smart. I do despise the people who try to pawn off larger Yorkie puppies as tinies though. |
