| ![]() I have several friends who owns Cresteds, they use polyester fleece for winter and cotton t-s in the summer, don't forget the sunscreen. They also all use buddy belts for harnesses and you can buy these little sheepskin strips for protection of the nakedness. also know they are incredibly prone to losing teeth it's common in the breed and they are buggers, very stubborn and hate being alone and will often soil just because you left them at home |

| ![]() Thank you all ![]() I love the breed! He's very scared in some situations like in a house he doesn't know, but he's like he rules the world on walks :P With his head high and tail ! He has always been a quiet little dog that just ''is around'', no barking, no naughtiness, nothing :P Just lies with me in the sofa all day, and plays with Fido ![]() Fido and him have got along very well from the start ! They are best pals ! ![]() He's so gentle to children, and the cats, though he's shy in situations he isn't used to, he rules over other dogs haha :P But not in a mean way. I totally reccomand this breed ! This one's name is Mímir, that name comes from nordic mythology , here's a link for those who don't know who he was: Mímir - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I think it's such a cool name ! He's about 3 years old, born in 2009... such a cutie!

| ![]() Oh boyyy yeah he loves to do his buisness in my sofa when I leave, but if I leave quietly, and have something comfortable for him to lie on, and I don't leave him too long (couple of hours are OK) then he doesn't do nothing that I don't like :P I always leave the boys loose in my bedroom, they have the crates there if they want to be there, and water, and can look through the window, watch the neighborhood ![]() He's spoiled rotten here, I don't own him (not yet) he's just here as a foster dog for know ![]()

| ![]() Cresties are cute, I have always thought I wanted one.. But I change my mind every other month. Right now it's no, and then in a month it will be OMG I love those dogs, I HAVE to have one. I have these cute little biker jackets for my guys. Since he has wool allergies, I would look into something made of synthetic fibers. My his n hers biker jackets are made with fleece inner lining which is polyester. I have to commend you for showing and having fun with your hairless. Most show dogs are hairy hairless that are shaved or even naired to get the look. Few people are showing true hairless, sadly. In the show ring, all that flowing hair is what wins, and it's easier to get a winning look by making a hairy hairless look like a true hairless than going with a dog that is a true representative of the hairless standard. The one thing to watch for is because he's a true hairless, he'll likely have more dental issues as the gene that codes for coat also codes for teeth.. That's another thing, the hairy hairless tend to have better mouths than true hairless. There is a true hairless that has championed if I recall, that has just about as much locks as a shaved hairy hairless, but I forget his name.. I found out about him when I was on one of my I want a Crested kicks. Few breeders have the patience to breed for the right balance of hair and skin, and most go the easy way, and just use hairy hairless.. which can actually have almost as much fur as a powder puff, |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | ![]() We got McGee when she was 3 1/2 years old, a retired Canadian Champion. She WAS Canadian Champion Ryals Bobbie Sox. We had her PTS earlier this year at 15. She was blind, deaf and senile and we finally made the terribly difficult decision to send her to Rainbow Bridge. McGee wore clothes, specially made for her because she was tall and thin like a Greyhound. Winter, she wore "zoot suits" with 4 legs, summer the ones like a jumper with 2 legs (a/c was cold for her). They definately need clothes to keep them warm. If anyone is ever thinking of getting one (they are great dogs), they DO require a LOT of skin care. One would think a Yorkie would be harder to care for but believe it or not, they are a breeze compaired to a Chinese Crested. They have skin like ours and can have skin problems including blackheads that seem to pop up overnight. Not a "wash and wear". If you need any specific info, PM me and I will try to help. Louise and Zachary |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | ![]() BTW, McGee had hair only on her head, legs and tail. Hairless Crested have HORRIBLE teeth. The canines are like tusks. She also had a lot of teeth missing from birth. Again, not an easy care dog. Louise |

| ![]() I would look for an all natural sun screen to put on that little guy. Regular sun screens (even the ones for kids) are full of some terrible chemicals. It sounds like a wonderful breed if your the kind of person who doesn't mind doting on a pet. I'm the kind that has to be doing something for someone so it would be a great project for me. I have to feel especially sorry for those poor things in a puppy mill. Sounds like they would have an especially horrific time of it. |
