| Pimples? Does anyone elses yorkie get whiteheads or blackheads? Maggie seems to get white heads on her. I've found them on her body as well as on her head. I just found a blackhead on her ear where it meets her head. I thought it was an embedded tick at first but once I was able to get a closer look and was trying to get it out, I realized it was a good sized blackhead. One of my cats used to get pimples (white heads, never black) on her chin, it was really strange. The vet used to say it was from using plastic bowls.

| On the cats chin it's called feline acne & comes from bacteria that grows on/in the plastic bowls & can be treated with astringent like sea breeze or clean & clear. I have never had a dog with this problem but don't know of any reason you could not use the same on a dog . |

It's hasn't been so many that I've forgotten to mention to the vet when I've taken her in. She's due for bortadella in a couple of weeks so I will ask then. I just wondered if anyone has found pimples on their dog, anywhere.

| Is her skin oily at all ? as that could cause some acne. Does she itch ? as scratching could also cause some bacterial growth that could cause pimples. If they don't bother her or get infected & out of control I would just dab them with astringent & not worry about them. |

| My mini schnauzer gets pimples. They are far worse when she is recovering from a flea issue from all the topical meda. Things like washing all bedding cloths etc can help but a topical cleanser is super useful. Wichhazel

| Her skin is not oily but she does rub up against a wicker chest or the back of the sofa sometimes. She isn't flaky either. Her skin looks pretty normal. Again, she's not broken out in them, she has them on occasion. The first ones that I was finding was on her head. I thought that she might have had a latex allery to her bands so I got her latex free bands. Seem to solve it. But I do find a pimple here and there on her body. It seems like it's where she has hair. It's not an ingrown hair but that's where I've found them.

I santize their bedding and blankies like once a month. They don't wear clothes during the summer here as it's way hot.

| She fets black heads as sge is probe to them, yes sone small flat whiye puss balls that sit right on the skin. So disgusting she had a large bump appear on her neck, during separating her hair to see wgat the hard lump was I guess I touched it in the right direction and a massive pimple like exploded. She has only had one like that vet said it was from all the hot spot ointment the week before. Princess has had the groomer remove a few black heads before mainly as she was fetting her course coat growibg in. For the most part using acv and lemon juice on skin before using wen to clean condition hair ciats has helped. Its not alwats about bathing more or cleaning more sometimes it has had more to do witg meds abd her secere allergies. Id never mess with them other thanr to cleanse but is it possible yours just has a rash?

| Georgie has a couple on his back now. The Vet said they are pimples and just clean them and not worry. I was wondering if anyone elses Yorkie got them too! He has never had them before but I notice his skin seems to be a little more oily now.

| When reading older threads on YT, I saw a number of threads on pimples like you are describing. Max had one on his cheek where one of his whiskers grows. I think the pore must have gotten clogged. Be sure to rinse shampoo and conditioner really well to help avoid clogged pores.

| Ziva seems to get one now and then, white, and they can get uncomfortable. We find them while petting her, stop to look at it and she pulls away fast. She has a rather large one on her right flank that she does not like, we are keeping an eye on it. I am trying to figure out what is causing them also... |

| Chibi got pimples really bad recently. I got "peroxiderm" shampoo at the vets that is suppsed to help exfoliate the skin so the pores dont get clogged. I also found that mixing in a little Neutragena "T-Gel" helps a lot, I've been having to wash him once a week to keep them under control but I think he just has a really bad case. I've heard once they start getting pimples its a life long affliction though- I hope this isnt true

| I'm guessing that this is what they are but I'm definitely going to ask my vet this time. There is no other kind of anything bad looking or wrong looking (Thankfully) so that's why I've not been too overly concerned.
