| Lonely Ok, we were dogsitting for a friend (it was a yellow lab puppy) for about 2 wks. And now the little guy is gone & Lucky is acting so sad! He seems very lonely & kinda justs mopes around. He barks around the house like he's calling out for him! And he searches for him everywhere! He just looks so sad! He's even crawling up to me & jumping in my lap & looks up at me w/ these eyes that are saying "I'm not next to go am I?"! Its so sad! I don't know what to do for him! Any advice? We can't really afford to get another yorkie right now. Maybe in a few months, but not right now. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I'm home all day, so he has company. Anyways...any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

| I am sure he is missing his buddy just like you and I do when our friends go away. Just give him some extra special time and some extra kiss's. Love heals many things.

| That's so sad. Poor Lucky. He's a very social doggie, so I can see him being that way. I suppose you'll just have to go get the yellow lab and tell his mommie that Lucky is lonely!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | My sentiments exactly.....Maybe your friend can "lend" you the lab pup on a schedule and they can have playdates. He is really missing him believe it or not. Yorkies are very social and love company !

| Do your friends with the lab live close by per chance? Maybe you could arrange to pick up the puppy once or twice a week for some playtime at your house. My lab mix goes to daycare once a week and just has the time of his life, then gets antsy just waiting for the next week to roll around so he can go back! Not only would your baby get to see his pal, but it would also be great for the lab puppy's social skills!

| Lucky's mom, I sympathize with you... my Gizmo gets in his lonely moods so we decided it was best to get him a little sister.... maybe like other people said you could look into getting another sibling.... how about a kitten..... those are usually free? Good luck!! |

| A few months isn't very long to wait if you are wanting another Yorkie. Besides, they are soooo much worth the wait. Meanwhile give extra attention, arrange play dates w/ your friends fur kids, etc. It sounds like Lucky really enjoyed his buddy for awhile. That is too cute.

| I worked a lot this summer, and I knew Macey was going to be really lonely. So I took her to pick out a kitty! I kind of considered him a toy for her, and boy did it work! They became best friends. They were always playing, and when they were done they would fall asleep in eachother's arms. It was so cute! A cat was a very cheap alternative to buying Macey another Yorkie to play with, and it worked out very well. If you would be willing to get a cat, my advice is to have the two meet before you bring him/her home. I knew it would work out when I introduced them, and Macey began licking his head. |

| I just read that you already have a cat who doesn't bother with your puppy. I should also mention that we have two five year old cats here, who absolutely hated Macey. Cats usually aren't too accepting of newcomers (I have experienced this more times than I can count.) Kittens however, (usually) don't mind meeting, and becoming friends with other animals. Also, I think Macey was a great judge in kitty character. Boston (the kitty she chose) turned out to be a great cat! |
