| Cotton in ears Someone here suggested that I put cotton balls in my morkie's ears when I bathe him. Well I have bathe him a couple of times and both times I put the cotton in his ears and he shook his head and the cotton came out. Can I use a little vasaline to help keep the cotton in and the water out? Or is something else to help keep the water out? Thanks for any advice. |

| did you break the cotton ball apart to make it smaller? i have to do this with cedric and push it in just a bit. he still does shake them out but it is usually the end of his bath. i would love to know if any1 else has a better way.

| I tried the cotton balls but it didn't work it took me two days to find one after Callie shook her head lol. I just try not to get water in them which is a little easier for me because Callie has floppy ears but I also use a ear cleaner after the bath that has a drying agent in it to make sure the water that gets deep down in there that you can't see gets dried up. My vet says every time they get wet they need there ears cleaned.

| I've always just used Q-tips after the girl's baths to dry inside their ears. Every so often I clean them out with the Vet's ear cleaning solution. None of my girls have had a problem either. |

| Don't laugh too loud... I put my thumb in the ear on the side of the head I'm working on and try to direct the spray away from the ear opening. I also clean ears and cut nails and do anals before the bath..or anals during the bath.

| I have never had a Yorkie that even the smallest cotton ball would stay in - and I have made some small ones!

| You do anals? I'm afraid. But then again, I don't know how. Would you mind explaining how it should be done? How often are you supposed to do it? I should probably at least try.

| I think you should have your vet show you how so you don't hurt anything.

| What is it she says there at the end: "Thanks for his anus?" What in the world did she say?

| I can't get the (bad word) cotton to stay in their either. And it is an issue because Margaux has such BIG ears! Instead of pouring with a glass or spraying I got a big bath sponge and that seems to be working for us. You can control the water better. She doesn't seem to mind it as much around her eyes as well.

| Well, I'm glad to know others are not better at keeping cotton in ears than I am. I wondered if I were the only person on earth who can't get a small piece of cotton to stay in a Yorkie's ears for years! I finally gave up and stuck in the pinkie finger just like others.
