| Milo is going to the beach:) Milo is going with us to Destin, florida the 27th. This will b the first time we have took a pet with us on vacation. Any advice? My husband don't think it's a good idea but I can't leave him at home. He hasn't ever stayed with anyone else. We got a place that is pet friendly. Its on the ground floor with grass and a little fence. I just think he will be better with us. Do you think he will be ok when we go out and eat and when we go to beach?

First, not all hotels will allow you to leave the dog in the room unattended. But IF they do I would bring a pack and play (or ask housekeeping for one ~ they may have some they reserve for the pups) and/or baby gates. Always leave your Do Not Disturb sign out and leave the television ON. Bring familiar items from home (bedding, toys, etc) and maybe an air freshener scent that you use in your home. Leave him with a piece of your clothing and something that belongs to the other pups as well. Have fun In Destin but consider Milo's safety and comfort level while he is being left alone while you are at the beach or out for meals or sight seeing

| I thought I would bring a gate to keep him in one area. It's a pet friendly condo. they didn't say anything about us not being able to leave him. They said he wasn't allowed on the beach. Only in designated areas. Maybe it will all go good.

| Some kind of a X pen would really be helpful to you. Make sure you don't leave him outside in the heat for more than a few minutes at a time. Check out the fence and make sure it is 100% escape proof. I would spend quite a bit of time with him in the condo before leaving him alone there or you could have a barking issue. My dog does not like being in the dark but they all have their own preferences. Check the temperature of the sand because it can get very hot during the day. Do you have a purse like pet carrier that you can put him in so you can take him places with you? |

| Also, maybe think about getting a stroller. I know that Destin has several pet shops and places that cater to the furkids. |
