| Maci either stares at me and barks or will come put her front paws on the edge of the couch and then back away when I try to pick her up... which usually means it's time to go outside.

| It depends. If Tatiana really wants my attention, and I'm preoccupied (like when I'm doing the dishes), she will "fake" cough. I'm NOT kidding. She learned early on that whenever she coughed, I dropped whatever I was doing and rushed over to her. I would say,"Are you okay?" I would pick her up, and examine her. So now, she would "fake" cough whenever I'm busy with something, and she wants my attention. She would cough, and IMMEDIATELY face me, as if to say,"I want attention." If I don't come right away, she coughs again, and looks at me, expectantly. When I do come to her, and give her attention, the coughing STOPS. She's funny. |

| Tibbe presents himself in front of me staring steadily at me. I ask him various questions about what he could want & he goes around in circles when I hit on the right question. If I don't respond, I get a low growl or little chirp to get my attention. He will often do a little rollover or two at this point to look cute. If that doesn't work, he puts his paws up on my leg & barks, then goes in fast circles. If that doesn't work, he will jump on the couch and start pawing my arm. If I am busy typing on the computer or on the phone, he will grab the Mitsubishi remote and start clawing it with his front paws/toenails, trying to grab it up in his mouth but it's too big for him to get a good hold, and besides, that gets my attention ASAP and I stop whatever I am doing & attend to him. If he can't find the remote, which I try to remember to hide from him, & he really has to go outside or he wants me to fix his food, he crawls into my lap, puts his paw on my chest and barks me out! That works well, too!

| With Harry it depends....if he just wants to play, he brings his ball to me and shoves it against my hand... If he thinks I've been on the computer too long (probably like now!!!) he jumps up behind me at my desk and kind of head-butts the back of my neck... He's not very subtle, either!!! Sally + Harry x |

| What our Ziva does is really quite funny. If we're sitting somewhere and she wants attention she will start jumping up and down like she's on a pogo stick until we pick her up. She gets about 3 feet high so you can't miss or ignore her, and she's only about 3 1/2 lbs. |

Mylee will lay down and do a funny little gurggle with her voice and if that doesn't work she'll let out a bark. And if that does't work she increase the number of barks until you give in. Moka will get up in my face if I'm sitting down. Literally climb up in my face then just fall over like a fainting goat. That's how she gets her tummy rubbed. She has so much trust in people because she'd fall right off the sofa if you didn't catch her. LOL.

| With Jaeger, it depends on what he wants. If he's hungry, he'll bark, then if I say "show me" he'll go sit by his food. If he wants to go outside, he rings his potty bells, or barks. If he wants to play, he'll drop a toy by our feet and stare at us and it, and if that doesn't work, he starts barking or talking. If he wants a walk, or to leave, he'll sit by the front door. If he wants picked up, he'll bounce against my leg or try and hop up. We're working on getting him to talk instead of bark when he wants something...and it does help. |

| Mine do just about all of the above mentioned...soft, short snorts to initially get my attention....then if that does not work, out come the toys, placed at me feet....if I continue to ignore, TOYS PLACED ON TOP OF MY FOOT....then the barks get sharper and l;ouder, leg bumps, and my tiny little Rocky stands on top of my foot and tries to shimmy up my leg.....Lordy, I love every single one of these babies....each unique in their own way, but every one of them FILLED to the top with love and loyality! |

| Thanks! I've had a lot of dogs in my life through my own pets & rescues but I can honestly say I have never had one with so much personality. I call him my little Shirley Temple dog! He is the Shirley Temple of dogs - loaded to his tiptoes in cuteness & tricks of the trade geared toward pleasing people's "cuteness" spot in the brain. He puts pizzazz into everything he does. And this dog spent his first 9 mos. of life confined mostly to a cage outside with barely anything in the way of a life and no socialization. How he got from there to here I don't know.
