Senior Yorkie Talker | The "Joey" with bangs....or bangs in general :) Bentley gets groomed tomorrow and he has been fighting his topknot with everything he has lately. Not sure why, he's 2 and has always had one. Anyways. He is in the "Joey" cut. Does anyone have pics of this cut with bangs? Should I cut them or just let them grow and hope he. Gets over this rebellious phase? I feel like if it was a bit longer it would stay up better. I was actually debating on not having him trimmed at all and letting his "Joey" grow out with his legs and face. Haha! Has anyone done this or wild I need to start all over and cut him all down? If I do that I will def cut his bangs as I can't handle brushing and daily and trying to get him to allow me to do his topknot. It makes me feel bad bc he in no way enjoys me putting it up and as soon as I do he rubs his head on the carpet and pulls it out. So then he's just walking around looking shaggy and I imagine not seeing much of anything. I'm sure people think I don't take care of him (of course those that know me know he is very ver spoiled). He's just a brat about his topknot. Sorry so long. Any pics of "Joey" cut with bangs or long hair with bangs would be great so I can show my groomer tomorrow. Thanks guys! |

| My Rosie is not in a Joey cut but I feel your pain with the top knot. I put it up, she rubs her face to pull it out, I pick her up and fix it, and then she leaves it alone. I guess she figures I'll just keep doing it. Lol. As far as a Joey with a top knot, I am wondering if that is Jada's cut from YT member Jadabug. I'll have to text her and see. If so, Jada is totally adorable!

| If you don't enjoy daily grooming you certainly do not want to grow his fur out anymore. I stopped Gracie from doing the head roll by playing fetch with her as soon as we were done grooming. By the time we were done she had forgotten about it. I also got her to be good about topknot time by giving her a treat as soon as we were done. She loves that and does not run off anymore. If he really hates it though I would cut it and keep him short since it is a lot of upkeep to keep a dog with a long coat comfortable and tangle free. Would love to see how he looks after the grooming. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I actually enjoy brushing his coat. That's not the problem. He will let me brush him. He just hates his hair up and I'm tired of seeing him walk around with it in his face. I think I may try to grow him long but cut his bangs. I can't decide yet. I only have a few hours so better figure it out. Haha! He is so cute in his "Joey" cut and I get the best of both worlds. Short and long But the hair on his Egs has gotten very long and I hate to see them cut it so I may just say let it grow and clean him up and cut his bangs (visor style). As for knots and tangles....we are very very lucky. Bentley never gets tangles or knots. Not sure if that means he just has silky hair or what but its never a problem. I'd love to post a pic after he has his grooming Luckily we have a great groomer that drives to us and grooms him at our home. I get too nervous with him somewhere else. |

| I don't even know what a Joey cut is! I have been putting top knots in Lucy's hair regularly. I found that she's less likely to fuss about it if I make it a smaller top knot and don't pull it too tight. I also take it out every night. She has long eyelashes and I don't like to get them caught up in the knot either. I'll let the groomer do a better knot. For now, I'm just getting her used to me doing it (with my clumsy nubby fingers and all!) I can't even put my daughter's hair in a high pony tail without fumbling! Hair stylist - I am NOT. Best wishes, Tracey |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I love the Joey cut, my groomer gives it also to Ralphie and both my boys looks so cute in it. It really shows off their body so if your dog is in good shape, it's very complimentary It's great for summer because it's cool, and it's great for winter because the cut goes well with clothing. I really think the head could be short with no topknot, but somewhere along the way I fell in love with the topknot, so that's what we do.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I guess the "Joey" was a few years back. Not too sure. It's just. A shaved body with long hair on face, legs, and tail. It's kind of like a schnauzer cut with no skirt. The face hair is not too long but with a shirt on he looks like he has LNG hair almost floor length. I can't post pics bc I'm on my iPad right now but if you'd each "Joey Cut" or "Zoey Cut" it should come right up. Very cute and manageable. I think I've decided on letting it grow and cutting his bangs but blended in not visor style straight across. I'll post pics later from our computer. It's SO slow. Haha! |

Make sure you aren't putting the topknot on too tight, and give him a treat afterwards! Skip the bows, until he's use to the band, and then you can start with puppy bows. Joey's breeder told me that you should be able to slide a medal comb under the band, it sounds like something is hurting him. I actually think with long hair on the body, you definitely need the topknot, but that’s just my opinion. You can do it anyway you and Bentley like!

| I wish I knew how to post pictures because we keep Neo in a Joey cut and he has bangs. He ABSOLUTELY will not let anyone put his hair up in a topknot without taking his "pound of flesh" along with it, lol! Actually, the Joey looks great on most of our babies-and it is the most "user-friendly" cut for summer that I can think of! |

| Sophie Kate has a Joey cut with some modification since she also will not wear a top knot. We get a visor cut and let the hair behind the visor get longer and we also tip her ears.

| Katie has had a topknot since she was a baby, and she is three years old. Lately she is pulling it out a bit, so I put a scrunchie over the band, and it stays in much better now. I always make sure it is not too tight, but when I make it too loose, Katie more easily pulls the hair out. I hope your baby comes out just the way you want him from the groomer.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie has a long coat with no top knot. I got her at 13 months and the breeder had just cut her topknot off. My husband loved her hair that way so I never grew it out. I just trim it every few weeks.
