| ![]() I'm not sure if I have ever snuck a dog in a no pets hotel but I have snuck them in to avoid paying the pet fees. The have special rooms for those with pets and the rooms are usually rooms that used to be for smokers. I'm not a smoker and just because I have a dog doesn't mean I should be subjected to an awful smelling room. My last trip, I snuck 3 of my yorkies in. No one ever knew as they are quiet and well trained. I don't leave my in rooms though. I couldn't leave them, I would worry about them the whole time being scared and alone in a strange place. So I just put them in their bag and take them with me.

| ![]() I haven't ...yet ![]() I think I wouldn't for a privately own place, like a bed and breakfast or such. I think that would be a front to them. I would in a national chain..because I think then it is just a way for them to make more money to charge fees. I am careful with remy and she does not leave any damage or germs. I have not traveled with the big guys. If I went in a place that had mold..dirty bathroom I wouldn't stay...period. I am not OCD about germs and I think I am average about being clean but I do get grossed out ![]()

We sneak our yorkie into hotels all the time. We have a third generation of yorkies this year, and this is my first official post out here. If a yorkie is part of your family, and have never sneaked them in a hotel, you are either lying, or have never needed to lie. Respect? for who.... Liability? responsible? really? I have never commented, but this required me actually becoming a member. First of all, if you have well behaved yorkies, this is a null point. As far as hotels... 90% of the time, i receive much less than what I paid for. Secondly...the insurance is paid for by a percentage of your rate. thirdly, even if your dog pissed on the floor, they would collect insurance but not repair the mess i.e not replace carpet. fourthly...your little yorkie could not do half the damage the average person could do. Lastly...do you really think they respect you? you are making them very wealthy, and if they had to replace the carpet in every unit, twice per year, they would still be making prophet off of you. But they dont replace. do they? I sneak my yorkies in all the time, and i encourage them to pee on the floor. they use the pads at home, but we leave the pads at home. Pee away little yorkies... as a former "motel owner", i understand the deal. trust me....i have a pretty good life, along with my yorkies, due to the flaws in the system.

As a former MOTEL owner, i can tell give you some insight. If your yorkie pees on the floor, its going to get steam cleaned(maybe). im going to charge you, or collect insurance. Im going to file a claim, pocket the money, but the carpet is going to remain as is. why? because as the owner, i dont have respect for you, or care. Its business. Let me say this....ive collected way too much money for college kids and drunks than for animals. If i had only 50lb dogs in my rooms, id be better off, and i doing good in retirement. kids and their parents cost more than a bit of pee...and to be honest, most folks who sneaked their pets into a room kept their pets in check. Yes...we know(but it matters little). Hotel owners love college kids, drunks, and new parents. small pets just fill in the blanks. bottom line...we make money either way. They dont respect you, why would you respect them?

| ![]() We did sneak Piccolo into a no pet hotel one time. We were on our way to the beach in North Carolina and got into a horrible thunderstorm in the early evening. We finally inched our way off the expressway and found a hotel. I have always felt a little guilty about this, but rationalized it because it was a safety issue.

| ![]() You can always call a hotel and describe yor pups and maybe they can make an exception. I know with my two little ones, owners allow them in because they are so small. We once rented a place that did not allow dogs and i spoke with the owner and once they met my pups they said it wouldnt be a problem. I would be too nervous to attempt to sneak them in, I wouldn't be able to do it. I would rather take my chances by being honest and asking. Plus what happens if you are caught and kicked out.. ![]()

| ![]() I'm guilty. But...my cousin is the manager and she said it was ok to bring her. She said if someone said something she was going to tell them that Ahi was a service dog. ![]()

| ![]() Yes I've snuck her in, my choice is to stay at a nice pet friendly hotel, they are out there. However, if there isn't any that are nice I certainly just sneak her in. I refuse to stay in a hole, just because they accept pets and if it's not nice enough for me then it's not nice enough for my baby. I too agree that my baby, even if she were to pee on the floor, would not be as bad as drunks puking on the carpet which I am sure happens frequently. That's not all she doesn't make near the mess that little kids make, or the noise. I honestly don't feel guilty doing it at all. |

| ![]() I do have to agree with some of the above. My little Roxi is cleaner and has better manners than some people I know. I work for a construction co and we have had to pay motels for the damage the guys do to the room...for example once a bunch of the guys got drunk and peed all over the carpet in the room. At least my little girl is pee pad trained ![]()

| ![]() I do have to admit that when I do stay in hotels, I always bring my own sheets and pillow. I also bring Lysol spray and antibacterial wipes. There is an article today on MSN that the TV remote and light switches (especially the bathroom light switch) are the the most filthiest parts of a hotel room.

I would never stay in a hotel owned by the furious previous poster up there. Obviously they have a chip on their shoulder.
