OP, unless your dog is overweight - there is absolutely nothing you could have done or not done with regard to his size.

I see all these tiny Maltese dogs here lately and my Casper was 8-10 lbs. But he was the best dog ever.

The tiny, tiny dogs that one sees nowadays can require a lot more care and attention and come with their own set of health issues.

Orion is my hefty bag at 10lbs...Raelle is my prissy girl at 5-6lbs....both are healthy and I love them both. You did nothing wrong, some are just bigger than others. My breeder had no idea where Orion came from, bc mom was 5lbs and dad was 4.5lbs. (byb)...my boy was far bigger than i expected...clumsy oaf!!

What the hay he's a snuggler and a huuuuuge kisser...lol!

Charlie weighs in at 13lbs but he doesnt look it. when you go to pick him up he feels like a bag of wet cement tho LOL His vet says his weight is fine but warns us not to get heavier as it can be hard on his knees with the jumping and all.
