| I wouldn't know, i'm having that problem with Joel. Feeding pineapple is supposed to make them not want to get there own poo. But it doesn't help if they try to get ALL poo, lol. It's hard just to take Joel to the park at the lake, it was covered with bird poo so I had to hold him most the time. It's hard to understand how such cute little things can be so.........gross! | Miss Priss would eat Yoshi's but not her own, well the pineapple didn't work here but it does for some. I always try to clean it up real fast, oh she doesn't do it all of the time now so I am hoping she is growing out of this. Good luck and brush those teeth. LOL

Yorkie Yakker | My Ginger eats poop to & worms. Not her poop but other dogs poo in our yard. Not only dose she eat it then she rolls in it where it was then she stinks an I have to bath her. We try to clean it up before she can find it. For the last week I have been feeding her pineapple this week so far I haven't seen her eat any, but there might not be any for her to eat. |

| My princess will eat her too. I try to keep it off the potty pad but she has beat me to it. She does well with "leave it" if I catch her. Some say it it not harmful to them, but it is very gross to me too. I dont want poo-poo kisses either. I have found with Josie she does this when I have given her too many treats. (beggin littles) I have done the pineapples and it will help. Takes a couple of days. Also I try giving carrots instead of beggin littles and only give the beggin littles as a real treat. I think I read it is something that get off balance in thier diet. |

| often they are lacking something in their diet so they eat poop for nutrients, maybe a little wheatgrass on organic salad greens pureed into her food |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I have tried EVERYTHING for 10 YEARS to get my Chihuahua Twinkie to stop eating poop. NOTHING works, pineapple, hot sauce, medicines. Someone poops on the papers and he runs before I can even move a toe and grabs it. Louise |

| I am glad I have never had this problem! My daughter was grossed out when Gracie tried to get poo out of the litter box! She could not believe the little princess would do such a thing We solved that issue by buying a larger litter box with a top on it. I don't know how you keep a dog from eating it's own poo except by cleaning it up before they can get to it! |

| Oh dear. Another poop eater. Take a look at this thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-his-poop.html Sadly nothing has helped my boy. I'm thinking about trying the pineapple again. However he eats his brother's poop and Cooper's belly doesn't tolerate pineapple.

| My vet said that their eating poop is an indication that they're lacking in some mineral that they need and gets from the poop want to eat. If they are getting the right nutrients from their food, they will stop eating poop. What I would do is sprinkle ground pepper on the poop. Mojo took a sniff and sneezed and walked away from the poop. hehehe. Now their doggie bag has a small bottle of ground pepper coz I sure dont want to pick up somebody else's dog poop. hehehe. Im trying to see if I can associate the reaction of sneezing with the smell of poop so Mojo will just instinctively stay away from it. So far, Mojo hasnt shown any interest in poop... then again, I changed his dog food. Btw, I asked vet if ground pepper have any adverse effect on puppies and he said he doesnt think so and he actually impressed with the idea hehehehe. |

| Abby goes on and off this bad habit, she is 10 months old. I saw Cesar Milan show about feeding banana for the potassium. Abby loves it and I keep some frozen in discs in the freezer and give her some every day. She has been eating the banana every day and no poop so... is it working? I hope so! |
