| Hand Bag Carrier There have been a few posts recently about a good handbad carrier so wanted to let you know about a new one that I just received today. It is by Lucy's Luxeries and is called the Charlie. I absolutely love it, along with that the owner, Jamie, was the most helpful person I have ever dealt with when it comes to ordering online. She responded immediately when I sent her an email, even though it was on Sunday and got my bag out the very next day. I highly recommend the bag and Jamie to anyone considering a new bag. No it isn't cheap, but then again not much is when it comes to my Zoe. I do have the Kwigy Bo as well and I have liked it well for quick errands, but I do feel like it squishes my baby too much, even though she is only a little over 4#, the sides squish in and there is no bottom support. Don't get me wrong I still like that bag and will use it, but when I started thinking about flying in the KB I just didn't feel like there was enough air flow or stability with that bag. The Charlie takes care of that issue and is very well made! Here is a link to her website - http://www.lucyslux.com/ Last edited by Zoejane; 06-07-2012 at 07:51 AM. |

| Depending on the size of your 2, you could get 2 in this bag. I love it for many reasons, but it has a nice soft bottom to it and it will also hold my iPad. 2 things that go everywhere with me, my Zoe and my iPad so this is perfect. |

| Oh how cute!! Zoe looks adorable in her new bag!! She looks like she loves it. I'm so glad this worked out for you! When I saw your OP, I thought this might be exactly what you were looking for, and I really thought you'd love Jamie. I'm so glad you posted this pic of her in her bag!! Hopefully she will have plenty of time to get used to it before your trip at the end of the month, but she looks like she's going to adjust to it pretty quickly Good luck with your upcoming trip, and I bet she will be going on many many more work trips to come as well |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I bought a beautiful handmade floral bag off Etsy for Zachary and it is so soft and nice. Mesh ends and quilted fabric for the rest. But here in Houston, as I quickly discovered, it is just too hot. Even in the a/c truck and stores, it is just too confining. He got sick, diarrhea, part from trying to transition to new food (we went very slowly but he has a VERY sensitive tummy) and I think part was the heat. So yesterday I ordered another carrier (does anyone else have multiples because the ones you bought didn't work out???) I wanted a nice looking bag that doesn't look like a dog carrier but will give him some decent ventilation. I plan on sneaking him in "here and there" so I wanta pursy looking bag. Backbone Pet Vera Pet Carrier - Pet Carriers at Pet Carriers Did anyone think of having a special thread for selling/trading carriers that didn't work out or isn't that allowed? By the time summer is over here in Houston and it cools down a bit, I doubt if Zachary will fit in his cute little floral carrier anymore.....!! Louise |

| Very cute bags! I wouldn't be able to fit both of my pups in one though Guess I'll have to stick to my Alex bags...

| [F]but when I started thinking about flying in the KB I just didn't feel like there was enough air flow or stability with that bag. The Charlie takes care of that issue and is very well made![/FONT] I think the bag is a nice for toting your dog around for short trips or when their heads can be out. But unless I missed something, the photos don't show enough mesh openings for airline travel, it also might be to tall to fit upright under the front seat. I don't know if you have taken your dog on a flight yet, but the majority of flight attendants will make you comply with the airline rules and keep your dog zipped up in a carrier under the seat in front of you. It gets very hot for them below the seat and even more so in a closed in carrier. Most dogs tend to be more worked up and prone to panting when flying, closed up in vinyl carrier with only one opening will just not give a dog enough air, or places to see out of and that will cause further distress. I just got off a flight yesterday, it's about the 4th round trip for Lola and one of my past yorkies flew with me round trip at least 100 times so I have a lot of experience in that area. If it was me for airline travel I would be looking for a structured carrier made of lightweight breathable fabric that had vents and mesh openings on at least three sides. To me it is impossible to have a single bag work as both a safe and comfortable for airline travel carrier as well as a stylish pet shopping tote.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I bought Zachary a beautiful bright floral handmade carrier from Etsy. It is soft and quilted but only has mesh on the ends. It looks very much like a handbag. His first time using it, he had the diarrhea, despite going from a/c truck to a/c store. We WERE trying to transition him regarding food but was doing it the right way, very slowly. Zachary ended up being bathed for the second time in 3 days and his new carrier got a good laundering (looks a lot like a Vera Bradley but for a fraction of the price). I have decided that Houston is just too hot for that type of carrier. So I went searching for a less confining one with a lot of mesh for ventilation. I ended up with this: Backbone Pet Vera Pet Carrier | Wayfair I expect that by the time the weather cools down here in Houston, Zachary won't fit in his floral carrier any more. It is sooooo pretty!! Has anyone thought of starting a thread just for swapping /selling the carriers and other things that we have purchased but aren't using for one reason or another? Or isn't that type of thing allowed? From HOT Houston, Louise and Zachary |

| I just spoke to the gal and asked about some of things I am concerned about in reference to using this as an airline carrier. She was nice and told me I should make up my own mind depending on my dog, she said it works well for hers and she travels with them lot, it's a nice bag, LOL much more stylish that what I use, but in my heart I still think it is to closed up. Please let me know how it works after you complete your airplane trip. She also said she puts her carrier under her feet, I tried that a few times and the flight attendant was right over telling me it must be under the seat. They have said this to me even when it is with a large laptop bag so I don't think it is just a pet thing. On the Sat flight I got a comment from a Flight Attendant I thought was funny, I placed the carrier on the seat as I was standing up to deplane and the attendant got really snippy saying the dog bag must never be put on the seat, like somehow she thought the outside of my bag would be more dirty than a person's carry on bag would be. After seeing some of the people and their carry on stuff board planes now a days I would venture to say Lola and her stuff is a lot cleaner, but I was just nice and said OK, no sense in getting in a big debate.

| This bag actually does have mesh on both ends as well and much more mesh then the KB which someone said worked for their airline travel. She also recommended that it could go on its side under the seat. I have flown almost every week for the past 5 years so know what the space limitations are. I feel sure this will work. I actually measured it against my briefcase that goes on all flights with me and it is a little narrower than that so I a, confident it will work under the seat. however I will report back after my trip the end of this month and let everyone know how it works. |

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | I truly looove the Sherpa bag...it is airline approved and provides ventilaton on three sides..Orion at 10lbs is a little too big for the medium, but for 6.5lb Raelle its perfect...havent travelled anywhere with it yet, but i do carry her about in it.
