| Craigslist is awful, full of people that want the dog for free or close to it, and then they'll turn around and re-sell the dog You'd be much better off listing him here in the for sale section, or take an ad out in your local paper Whatever you decide, good luck

| You are right ! I have found that the more value a person places on something the better they care for it. Besides who cares what the unsuitable want, you wouldn't even loan them a book, so forget them adopting a dog from you ! Not only do you have the right to be picky, it is your responsibility to find the best forever home you can.

| If you decide to find a home for the dog, Petfinder is great. We are in the process of getting a dog from a rescue group, and I found Petfinder to be a great resource for finding dogs that were looking for homes. We are registered with two rescue groups (one a general dog rescue, one a rescue group that focuses on Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso) -- both groups had me fill out a quite long application, submit 2-3 references (and they did contact my references), and a home visit -- plus once we pick out a dog, the fee is from $200-400. Anybody who is legitimately looking to adopt a dog should have no problem with any of that. |

| Today's vent: credit card companies and online bill pay! One of my credit cards payment deadline is today. Lo & behold I couldn't log onto my account to e-pay because they need me to activate a new card that I have not yet received in the mail! After speaking to 3 different customer care reps they finally processed my payment. I had to ask them to waive the pay-by-phone fee because I simply had no choice! What a day |

| It is so hard to find a good home by using places like Craigs List and even the local paper. I have tried to find homes for kittens that we have taken in and helped to raise and it is the most difficult thing in the world to answer those calls. People who do not even pretend that they would spay or neuter them when they were old enough. People who want a new kitten because their last cat got "knocked up" and they had to get rid of her! It's sickening. It's the same with dogs. People want a free animal that they consider to be disposable and something that is a temporary form of entertainment for them. I have found some of my better homes by posting notices (with photos) at various vet's offices, the post office and a few local stores that still allow such posts. It is so difficult. Even if the people appear to be decent and have vet references you just really don't know. One of the last little ones I was re-homing I started crying so hard the man felt bad and asked if I wanted to keep her. I said no. I knew I couldn't keep them all. He and his wife later sent me a beautiful photo of her sitting so pretty in her beautiful new home. I can help raise or care for a homeless dog or cat but finding the right home is the most difficult part. I have become physically ill dealing with this most difficult part of rescue. Hope you find a wonderful home for your little guy. He is so adorable. |
