YT Addict | Info on teacups!!! Teacup Yorkies – Important Facts About This Breed I was surprised to read that ethical breeders will keep the runts as pet quality rather than trying to breed the poor things to death. |

YT Addict | I was surprised when I read that!! I don't know much about breeders; however, I know they sure do like to produce those poor little tiny teacups to sell for $$$$. I couldn't live with myself knowlingly putting another life at risk just to make a buck. |

| I cant stand breeders and people who make uninformed people think teacup and toy yorkies are two different types there is not such thing as a teacup a yorkie is a yorkie whether its 2 pounds or 20.

Dont paint ALL breeders with such a broad brush....."...I don't know much about breeders; however,I know they sure do like to produce those poor little tiny teacups to sell for $$$$.". ~ You are more correct with the FIRST part of your statement than you could possibly know, as evidenced by the rest of your thought process!!!....."THEY" do NOT all deliberately breed Yorkies strictly to get runts, nor do "THEY" all deliberately breed the runts! You will find there are "breeders" (NOT a dispicable word NOR activity!) that go way, way above and far beyond the call of duty breeding Yorkies and doing it "the right way".....with love, concern for the breed, compassion for her breeding dogs, as well as her babies, NO EXPENSE SPARED IN HER PROGRAM, showing interest and concern and providing 24/7 help to new buyers FOR THE LIFE OF THEIR PUPPY, and seldom to never, breaking even let alone "putting another life at risk just to make a buck". EXCUSE MY FRANKNESS AND OBVIOUS IRRITABILITY WITH YOU....I HAVE BEEN UP ALL NIGHT, ATTENDING TO A MOMMA ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH IN THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS....SHE ISNT EVEN IN ACTIVE LABOR YET, I AM STRICTLY WATCHING HER AND RUBBING HER TUMMY BECAUSE I WANT HER AS COMFORTABLE and HAPPY AS POSSIBLE, SINCE I PUT HER IN THIS CONDITION! I also do this so that people that want a happy, healthy, adorable Yorkie baby that they can look forward to spending the next 10-15 years with, will have a puppy available to them that will fulfill that desire! I will get back to my momma now!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure Miles was waiting for me at the rescue because they couldn't get top $$$ for him due to his cute little overbite (non-standard) along with his non-standard 5 lb. weight at 4.5 mos. Now 8 mos. @ 7.6 lbs., also non-standard and not desirable to the general tea cup loving public, and might even weigh more. But, I got the best doggie on the planet right here in my very own living room. WOOF!!!!

YT Addict | And you are correct, these people do exists (it's not everyone out there), like it or not!!! It is up to the individual to do their homework on the Yorkie breed or any breed they are interested in purchasing and not be taken by the unethical breeders. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Some of the newsletter was correct, but actually reputable breeders sell most of their dogs on limited registration not just the "teacup". In my opinion, that one of the qualities of a reputable breeder. Also, this statement isn't true at all: Quote:

Yorkietalk has changed so much since I got here, breeders were defending their position on breeding tinies, it’s one thing to produce a tiny in your breeding program; it's another thing to breed it. Of course, I don't even believe in breeding "for" tinies, I don't think that many people are equipped to give them the home they need.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Thanks so much! I learned so much here, and now I stick around to share it with others. Lol, I didn't even know that there was "no such thing" as a teacup, until I came to YT. I did think that they were dogs for old ladies!
