Info on teacups!!!

Nancy I didn't know either until I joined YT in 2006. Now when people ask "Oh is Georgie a Teacup" My poor husband says oh you asked her the wrong question and takes cover LOL!

Well, I am an old lady close 50 so I guess that would be ME lol... I always loved Yorkies and thought they were rather beautiful and fancy. I liked the idea of being able to take Miles with me on my errands (most if he doesnt get car sick) excuse to get us out of the house and he doesn't have to be alone for that moment.

It took a long time before people were able to use the teacup cup word around me without a lecture.

Too funny !!! I thought the term was antiquated until I came here. I thought the term 'toy' was used instead. I guess I was wrong.

Lol, you're still a kid to me. I think of an old lady as someone with white, pink or blue hair and a pink teacup poodle!

Ha ha!!! I am trying lol. Yes, that is a more accurate old lady image . I think people want to be like Paris Hilton with her chi (can't spell it right now). She probably paid 8K for her dog (dunno, just kidding).

Toy is actually a legitimate term. There's a "Toy" class of dogs and the Yorkie is one of the breeds that belongs to that classification.

Yeah and mama inherited it. I guess it's better than the girls having human babies. I don't think many 20 year olds are ready for being a mother and all the sacrifice that that means. I don’t think most are ready to be a dog’s mother either, but we do have some excellent younger Yorkie mothers here at Yorkietalk.

And I just had a thought ... I wanted a yorkie when I was about 25, for some reason it didn't happen. I feel more able to care for a dog now at this stage in my life. Still too young for human children . Can handle them...

I got Georgie when I was 27 and had my skin son when I was 30. I can tell you Georgie is more work than my 4 year old LOL.

Fact: There are more unethical Breeders than ethical.
Fact: Even ethical breeders use the word tinyteacup etc, as a marketing ploy.

Thanks for sharing the article. I wish, really wish, that dogs of all breeds would stop being overbred. There are too many out there.
