Milo won't play without me.

Brody and Mia follow me everywhere. DH can leave the room unaccompanied, but not me. If I run to the store or something and leave them with DH, they stay at the door, watching, maybe whimpering (Mia, mostly), jumping up on the door maybe sitting, sometimes up on the back of the love seat looking out the door. DH can leave, they stay with me, nice and quiet and polite. If they react, they just go to the door and watch him leave then come back...like they were interested in the "go"-ing part, but since Mommy stayed home, to, well...k! They love DH...but they are "joined at the hip" with Mommy!

That's why if Callie cant go on any trips we take I don't go because I am terrified of her completely shutting down. When she had to stay overnight at the vet hospital after having her LP surgery and ACL surgery they had to call me early and say I needed to pick her up as soon as I could because she was just shutting down would not eat, drink, or go potty. She did like to be held by all the vet techs though. I don't have a good time stressing about her and not knowing if she ok.

Many Yorkies are leary of young children as they fear injury, which is often justified. Same reason some of them don't like men - men can play a bit rough with toy dogs. Many dogs feel a little insecure up on high furniture - while others never seem to care what they are on. I would have the guys video a couple of these play sessions so you can get a feel for what happens - bearing in mind they just could modify their behavior a bit knowing momma is going to be watching. Maybe you can have more play sessions down on the floor with you in attendance with the guys and make sure they understand Yorkies are fragile & sensitive little dogs and perhaps a gentler way of approaching Milo might be in order, keeping the sessions with the guys & you very short and fun. I think boy pups tend to be more attached to female owners and visa versa with girl pups being attached to male owners.

I'm sure this is not a good feeling,as much as you adore the love from Milo it would be nice for Milo to show affection towards the rest of the family.

Maybe the three of you can start planning on going to a dog park together,but your son and hubby will be the ones walking and playing with Milo and you will be just watching.How much time daily would you think they spend with Milo?

Gabby used to give Heide all the attention,but early on this year Heide went to brazil for 3 wks and gabby has never been the same towards her once returned. Now,Gabby will follow me everywhere I go,I mean every move.She will always choose to lay on my lap,I'm the one she will wake up in the middle of the night.She will scratch me if I'm not paying attention to her.

My father lives with me and is equally bonded with Max & Teddy as I am. The boys adore their grandpa. However, when I leave the house, the boys spend most of their time in their doggy beds under the kitchen table. Dad tries to play with them, but they don't seem to want to play much.

I think dogs, even energetic Yorkies, need their downtime. For Max and Teddy, that is when I leave the house.

I wouldn't be concerned unless Milo wants little to do with your husband and son even when you are home, or ever.

I should add that my boys are wired when I am home because they are always angling to get me to take them outside for a walk. They know they aren't going to go outside with just grandpa, so they relax and wait for me to return.
